Set your learning goal(s) around feedback before diving into content, to get the most out of this course.
Video about the mechanism and why behind giving and receiving feedback.
Welcome to this third video about feedback. In this video you will learn more about receiving feedback.
Companies spend a lot of time and attention to giving feedback, whereas receiving feedback might be as (or even more) important.
Grab your notebook and answer the following questions:
How do you personally deal with challenging feedback conversations?
How do you set your own boundaries if you receive non-constructive feedback from someone?
After viewing the video, make sure to check out Bravely's 4 tips on receiving feedback in the next lesson. Feel free to use the example sentences and share with others, if you find it useful!
What else can I learn in this course?
In the following video, you can learn more about the basic communication skills. They come in handy in any type of (feedback) conversation! Applying these skills will allow you to better deal with challenging talks. For example if someone acts defensive after you gave the person feedback. Or if someone is awfully quiet and doesn't speak to you at all, though you still want to continue the conversation. Perhaps you want to learn how to reach your own goals while maintaining a healthy relationship, though you don't know how to address it.
See you there!
Introduction video about the next communication skills video where we will explore powerful conversation techniques which you can use in any (challenging) talk.
Good luck!
Become an effective communicator and a better listener. This video teaches you the basic communication skills that will come in handy with any type of conversation.
In your live Bravely workshop, you will put these skills (and more) into action during practicing time.
Welcome to this online course "Courageous Feedback" about the art of Giving and Receiving feedback.
We're Charlotte and Josine, Psychologists and Trainers from the Netherlands. It is our mission to put back empathy in the workspace with our action-based learning programs. One of the topics we focus on, is feedback.
We designed a practical course for you with bite-size video's, reflection exercises and example cases. Hit the ground running in less than 1 hour and apply your learnings in your own feedback conversations.
Most likely, you came across this course because you want to develop or boost your feedback skills. You like to learn how to give feedback in a non-violent and constructive way. Maybe you once received poorly constructed feedback yourself, and you want to know how to bounce back from this in an effective way. Or your performance talks are coming up and you like to prepare for this talk in advance.
Whatever your motivation is to join this course, we hope you will walk away more skilled and equipped, ready to tackle any difficult feedback talk.
Why Feedback?
Feedback is a necessity if you want to (help others) grow professionally and personally. Being open with each other and giving each other honest feedback, requires a certain amount of courage and vulnerability. However, it's worth it! Here's why.
Research shows that regular feedback contributes to:
increased motivation and engagement
more psychological safety
a real learning culture
a feeling of belonging
better performance
This online course focuses on teaching you the basics of giving and receiving feedback, including:
Bravely's 5 steps approach in giving feedback
4 powerful tips on receiving feedback
Demo video's about how (not) to have feedback conversations
Additional video about basic communication skills

Make sure to have your notebook and pen ready. When we explain an exercise, feel free to pause the video and reflect on your answer.
