If you ask someone, “What does it mean to be courageous?” they might reference a superhero movie, thinking it’s about saving someone from a burning building, jumping in front of a car, or disarming a shooter. While these are acts of courage, we also need courage for everyday challenges—like walking away from conflict, pursuing our dreams, or talking to a stranger. Courage helps us choose the right emotion in tough situations and do what’s right. It’s a tool we all have, but not everyone knows how to use it. This course will help students unlock their superpower: courage. Cornelius offers practical tools to help them become more courageous in their lives.
Cornelius is one of today’s most dynamic youth motivational speakers. Growing up on Chicago’s South Side, he faced violence and crime from a young age. Many of his friends ended up incarcerated or lost their lives, leaving him to wonder how things might have been different if they had learned to manage their emotions and become leaders. Despite these challenges, Cornelius earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He founded Super-Self Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps youth become super leaders, authored nine youth development books, and has been a youth counselor for the past 10 years. Through his transparent motivational speaking, Cornelius shares his journey of overcoming adversity to achieve his goals, helping students believe that anything is possible if they are willing to work for it. His ability to connect with any audience is exceptional, inspiring students to unleash their true power and become today’s super leaders.
