Welcome! Here's what I will cover in this course.
A note on parental readiness for potty training and a brief history of diapers.
An step-by-step overview of the potty-training process.
In this phase of potty training your child will learn how to recognize the feeling of needing to eliminate, and how to get to the potty in time.
This is how to start potty training for the first 1-3 days.
Please download the worksheet included in the resources for this lecture so that you can make notes on the 4-keys!
In this step, you will gain some confidence with leaving the house for short outing.
In this step your child will have the chance to get used to clothing at home.
Your child is practically potty trained! Woo Hoo!
Pooping in the potty can be a major road block for some kids! The tips in this section will help you through most issues you may face in this area. And be sure to download my constipation-busting recipe book in the resources for this lecture!
Includes how to prepare your child for nighttime potty training as well as useful tips on how to protect the bed from accidents.
The transition back into daytime childcare can be a stumbling block for many kids. Learn how to make the transition easier and more successful for everyone. I have included a template letter in the resources folder that you can use to communicate your child's potty training progress and needs with your childcare provider.
You did it!! Download the Potty Training Plan overview resource (a.k.a. cheat-sheet) to refer back to when you start potty training!
Learn how to help your child (18 months and up) achieve this major milestone gently and effectively when YOU are ready. From this class you will come away with tools, tips and techniques that will help you reach your potty-training goals with confidence and ease; no candy, stickers or bribes needed.
This course focuses on best practices for non-coercive daytime potty training as well as sections on naps and nighttime, working with your childcare provider, common potty-training problems, multiple children, and a section that specifically addresses poop troubles. Each section is presented in clear simple steps with downloadable resources to solidify your learning and help you on your way. As a special gift, I have also included a constipation-busting, toddler friendly recipe guide.
Don't be fooled by the unrealistic expectation that your child will be potty trained in a weekend. This course focuses on engaging with your child in order to teach them how to recognize their need to pee and poop and to put it in the potty. Your child will progress from diaper-dependent to diaper-free at their own pace, and then you will learn how to solidify their progress over the following weeks to achieve full potty independence!
Whether your child has interest in the potty, or run and hides at the sight of it, this course is for you!
