    This course shall cover the basic and essential material, which you need to know about the Contacts world. I will cover different Contracts types, the differences between Contracts management, and administration, adding to the Contracts manager and Contracts Administrator roles and responsibilities.

    Above all, I would like to thank you for attending this course. Then, I would like to introduce myself, I am Reem Ibrahim, and I am a specialized professional in the Contracts, Claims, and Risk management processes.

    I have got several certificates along the road to develop my contracts and claims management skill set, adding to more than 20 years of practical experience in construction management in various fields.

    I am here today to present to you a series of Contracts, Claims, and Risk management courses, and to provide you with the basic and detailed knowledge needed to empower your contractual awareness, understanding, and management skills. I would like to tell you that, I am talking herein in this course out of the educational background and knowledge that I have, plus, the practical experience that I already practiced.

    I would like to tell you that one earlier day, I started my career path with minor and basic information about a few things, however, with patience and passion to know more, and with hard-working, long hours, tough times passed, several occasions consumed during attending courses, working, and submitting assignment or reports, after all of these years, I do not regret that, I never regret working hard, but I sometimes regret discarding some opportunities or miss attending some courses. Yeah, I know several social platforms are talking about heartbreaking titles such as Work Smarter rather than Work Harder. Also, they give several pieces of advice about Work-Life balance. Come on, let me tell you that, yes, I am not opposing such rules, but you have to know when to use what & how long would you need to take your pauses and breaks. Anyway, I will also develop a career path coaching course, in which you will know more about the previous rules and their usage.

    Briefly about myself, I hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, adding to a 2-year master's in business administration, and I accomplished a 2 years professional diploma for Contractual and legal aspects in the construction industry, known in Egypt as CLAC program, I also attended several other courses in Claims Management, Arbitration, and Dispute resolution procedures, and in standard forms of FIDIC contracts as well.

    I am a certified Arbitrator from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and I am a certified Senior member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Last, but not least, I am a risk management professional from the Project management institute. Now, back to the course material, I would also like to thank you for being here today and would encourage you to continue spending time investing and developing your skill set.

    This course is served for people who are interested in the topic and for people who probably carry the following titles.

    Construction Manager, Procurement Manager, Project Manager, Technical office managers, Contracts Administrators, and Persons who are overseeing or managing Contracts and/or involved in the Construction Industry disregarding the title.

    While for the Course Requirements, I can tell that, No Technical Requirements are needed for the Course attending, but it needs you to be willing to know and open to learning about the Contracts Administration and Management fields.

    Now moving to the course content, I am happy to share with you that this is a 2-hour course covering the basics and fundamental information for Contracts management and administration processes represented in four main sections and detailed as follows:

    In the first section, I will talk about Introduction to Contracts: What is a Contract? And What is the difference between contract management and Contracts Administration?

    In the second section, I will cover several Forms and Types of Contracts, where I will clarify the differences between the different classification means; as I will classify the Contract types considering their formation, and the Contracts types considering the payment terms, the Contracts types considering Scope of Work, and the Contracts types considering the type of the contracts’ Conditions.

    Then in the third section, I will talk also about the Construction Projects Outline (Organization Chart), the different Procurement types for Construction Projects, and the various applications of Contract types in Construction Projects due to the type of relation between the parties.

    In the fourth section, I will cover the Role of Contracts Manager and Contracts Administrator.

    Finally, you will find all sections summarized in the Conclusion of the course to help you to memorize the information more.

    At the End of the Course, you will find a 4 questions quiz, to ensure that you have now understood the course information and you can hold the attendance certificate associated with the course.
