Welcome to this course where we will teach you everything you need to know to conduct your next interview with a candidate for a sales position.
The interview is such an important process for companies and recruiters looking to bring in the best possible people for the job and if you conduct great interviews you have a better chance of attracting and hiring top candidates.
Tracey Ashington and Salil Dhawan are my co-instructors in this course and they both have extensive experience in helping people just like you learn how to conduct interviews.
This is your opportunity to introduce yourself to me and the rest of the student community. Tell me where you are from? what do you do? what goals do you want to achieve though this course?
You can come back to this board and add more thoughts as you go through the course and achieve your goals. Seeing all the other students in the course will also motivate you and keep you going as you participate in this community of learning.
In this lesson we will talk about the preparation you need in order to conduct an interview, which will be as part of a panel with the hiring manager. Firstly, make sure you have a clear understanding of the position, and this not something you can do just beforehand.
In this lesson we will talk about reviewing the candidates' information, in their CV, linkedin profile and possibly social media pages.
An interview is going to influence whether a candidate will actually take a job at your company or not. So, you should use the opportunity to show the candidate around the office and highlight some of the aspects of your company that makes it unique.
Now that you are well prepared, you are in a position to conduct your structured interview. In this lesson we will go through the typical steps of such an interview.
After the interview, if you are the recruiter on the panel, then you should meet with the hiring manager and compare notes. Be sure not to project your own judgment onto them and genuinely listen and observe body language to determine whether the candidate made the right impression.
In this lesson we will talk about the preparation you need in order to conduct an interview, which might also include a recruiter. Firstly, make sure you have clearly defined the position, and this would probably have been required for the original job posting to kick off the recruiting process and for potential candidates to apply.
