With a block theme, you can customize every area of your site and add new features, not just the content area. On top of that with Gutenberg WordPress block themes you improve the performance of your WordPress site.
This course goes through the process of building a custom WordPress block theme in the WordPress Site Editor. The first part walks you through every and each block features to help you understand how every block works.
Then, at a later stage you'll be creating page templates & template parts & block patterns to streamline the workflow. I also reveal how to export your custom block theme as well as now to create a child theme & clone the active theme( three in one solution).
WordPress block themes are those themes that have templates made entirely of blocks so that they fully support full site editing.
So, you will be building the entire page layout using blocks since everything you see on a page is a block because we now have access to Full Site Editing or FSE– FSE is a collection of interrelated features that unlocks the ability to edit your entire website using blocks. This means you can use blocks for all parts of a website, not only for the content area.
Within the Site Editor interface is where you build, preview, edit and remove the page templates and templates.
Within the template editor is where you create and edit post and page templates & template parts such as headers, footers and sidebars.
