Description

Hello! Welcome to my Udemy course on Trauma-Informed Care Implementation into Inpatient Behavioral OT  and Compassion Fatigue and Burnout. My name is Hannah Clavell, and I am a third-year Occupational therapy doctorate student from Drake University. I am completing my 14-week doctoral capstone at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in the inpatient behavioral health units. I reviewed the current best evidence related to trauma-informed care, compassion fatigue, and burnout. I developed resources and strategies for behavioral health staff to utilize Trauma-Informed Care and created coping strategy ideas to support the health and wellness of staff.

In this course, I present on Trauma-Informed Care. I define Trauma, identify how trauma may impact occupational performance, define the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Trauma-Informed Care model, and provided intervention ideas.

Additionally, I present on compassion fatigue and burnout. As well as provide strategies and resources to help University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics staff to build resilience. In this presentation, you will learn about the risk factors, signs/symptoms, and protective factors of both compassion fatigue and burnout.
