Description
This course explores the fundamental concepts and principles of communication, offering insights into its meaning and significance. Key topics include the objectives of communication, the communication process, and the essential elements of the communication cycle. We will discuss in detail how communication occurs, from the sender to the receiver.
We will identify the key components involved in effective communication, such as the sender, message, medium, receiver, and feedback.
The course examines the various barriers to effective communication, including semantic, personal, and environmental obstacles, and provides strategies to overcome them. They will understand how language and interpretation can create misunderstandings in communication. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the seven C’s of effective communication and explore diverse communication methods.
Special focus is given to verbal and non-verbal communication, highlighting their roles and differences. The course also discusses one-way and two-way communication, emphasizing the importance of feedback in communication and the requirements for effective feedback.
Additionally, the role of the environment in communication is analyzed. We will also explore the importance of body language and writing skills on communication effectiveness. By the end of the course, students will appreciate the importance of strong communication skills and learn practical techniques to enhance their communication abilities in various contexts.
