  • Introduction and Warning0:16
  • Introduction, and Single Pole Switch14:07
These techniques are for de-energized circuits only. Always work safely.

This video diagrams and demonstrates how to wire a single pole switch.
  • 2 Switches in a 2 Gang Box - - - Dimmer Switch13:42

This video diagrams and demonstrates how to wire two switches in a 2 gang box, with one of them being a dimmer switch.

  • 3 Way Switch: Power to Light then Switch then Switch10:51
This video demonstrates how to wire a 3 way switch in the configuration of the power going to the light first, then to the switches.
  • 3 Way Switch and a Light that must Always be On9:12
This video demonstrates how to wire a 3 way switch in the configuration which includes a light that must always be on like a night light.  The 3 way switches operate the other lights in the system in a normal manner.
  • 3 Way Switch Power to Switch then Light then Switch7:11
This video demonstrates how to wire a 3 way switch in the configuration of the power going to one of the switches first, then the light, and then the other switch,
  • 3 Way Switch Power to Switch then Switch then Light5:38
This video demonstrates how to wire a 3 way switch in the configuration of the power going to one of the switches first, then the the other switch, and then the light.
  • 4 Way Switch9:21
This video shows how to install a 4 way switch in between 2 3 way switches.
  • Plugs3:37
This video diagrams and demonstrates how to wire a basic plug or receptacle.
  • Looping Circuits in Plug Boxes3:31
This video shows how to save time and have a better installation by choosing not to cut wires unnecessarily.
  • Two Gang Plugs3:48
This video shows how to put two plugs in the same box and wire them the best way using pigtails instead of jumpers between the plugs.
  • Switched Plug5:21
This video diagrams and demonstrates how to control a plug with a wall switch.
  • GFI Plug7:33
This video diagrams and demonstrates how to wire a GFI plug.  It is slightly different than a regular plug.
  • Working With Stranded Wire7:42
Stranded wire has unique properties and behaves differently from small gauge solid wire.  There are certain techniques that give you a solid connection.
  • Final Exam11:56
This wiring is a bit complicated  - unless you have been paying attention to the lesson. It is extremely unlikely that you will encounter a real world situation like this test, but it will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge. See if you can come up with the solution before it is explained in the lesson.
