Requirements
- Minimum equipment needed is a DSLR/Mirrorless Camera; Memory Card; Camera battery; Zoom or prime lens of at least 85mm (70-200mm is ideal); Batteries/power source for flashes, triggers, flash controller; 3 flashes: High-powered strobes* – OR – if using speedlites or low-powered lights, MUST be HSS-capable *such as Godox AD-600Pro; Light stands and modifiers; 18% grey card for setting exposure; Flashlight; For the jump bar – Either an agility-type jump/hurdle set, or two 5-gallon buckets (or similar sized “stands”) and a mop or broom handle; Plain (non-colored) cornstarch powder to practice with.
- Optional for this course but will enhance your experience: Cornstarch-based "powder" in color(s) of your choice; Tripod; Black backdrop and backdrop stands; Laptop with Lightroom Classic installed and a tethering cable OR a Cam Ranger wireless tethering device; Shutter cable release -OR- other remote -OR- a Pluto trigger/cable and phone for the app that controls it; Portable fan

Description
Level-up your professional or advanced-hobbyist photography skills by learning to take pet photos that will get a "WOW!" from anyone that views them! This Color Cloud ℠ pet photography course goes beyond the familiar shots taken by most pet photographers and teaches how to produce fantastic, colorful images such as shown on this page! You'll learn how to capture fast action, accented by a cloud of flowing colored powder, consistently and accurately, creating dramatic results!
Safety "best practices" for working with colored powder is promoted throughout this course.
The Color Cloud ℠ photo shoot process has been broken down by your instructor into easy-to-understand steps. Each course section will build upon what has been learned in the previous one. The course uses video lectures and supplemental materials, in which you'll cover pre-shoot topics including choosing a pet model for your photo shoot, choosing and setting up a location, positioning your lighting equipment, different methods for triggering your camera for fast-action shots, and how to consistently get sharp focus. Once your equipment is all set up, you'll learn how to easily obtain perfect exposure and freeze motion, using either speedlites or strobes. You'll also read about safety tips for the pet chosen to be your colorful star. With these new skills, you'll start taking photos and will be amazed at the shots you'll get!
You'll also be presented with some ideas for additional shot set-ups to use in a Color Cloud ℠ photo shoot. After mastering taking your awesome Color Cloud ℠ shots, you'll read about post-processing tips to make your images truly WOW-worthy. Last but not least, you'll be provided with suggestions about how to incorporate Color Cloud ℠ Photo Shoots into your pet photography business!
Upon successful completion of this course, you'll receive, upon request, an individually-numbered digital certification badge from the instructor that signifies that you are trained as a Color Cloud ℠ Pet Photographer! You may display this badge on promotional materials (social media, etc.) for your own photo shoots!
Who this course is for:
- Pet photographers who want to learn new techniques to create extraordinary images!
- Learners should be experienced photographers (Professional Pet Photographers or Intermediate/Advanced-level Hobbyists) who are VERY familiar with their camera buttons/menus/settings and lighting equipment controls and functionality.
