Instructor
My name is Maria Toro-Troconis and I am super excited that you are reading this!
I have worked in the area of Digital Learning for over 20 years in Higher Education Institutions in the UK, including 10 years as Senior Lecturer and Head of E-learning at the School of Medicine – Imperial College London. Most recently I have been working as a Digital Education consultant for different organisations of the United Nations (UNICEF, UNESCO and UNDP).
I developed the Blended Learning Design Framework (BLEnDT©) at Imperial College London and the CoDesignS and CoDesignS ESD Frameworks, which has been implemented in several universities globally.
I have produced several publications, including a chapter on the role of Blended Learning in the delivery of World Health Education as part of a systematic review of eLearning for Health Sciences Education led by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
I am the Founder and Director of the Association for Learning Design & Education for Sustainable Development (ALDESD) in the UK.
I was selected as one of the top international education influencers of 2021 (Edruptors) by ISC Research because of the impact I have had to affect change for educators in Education for Sustainable Development.
