Description

A consistent jump shot starts with understanding what your body is supposed to do and why.

This basketball shooting course was created for players who want to simplify their shooting mechanics, understand their mistakes, and develop a motion they can repeat with confidence.

Learn the mechanics behind a simple, repeatable basketball jump shot.

In this course, you will learn how to:

  • Build a repeatable shooting setup

  • Improve foot and body alignment

  • Create shot power more efficiently

  • Connect the different parts of the shooting motion

  • Identify habits that may be hurting your consistency

  • Use simple mental cues to reinforce better mechanics

  • Practice with a better understanding of what you are trying to accomplish

Many players are taught drills without fully understanding why they are performing them. My approach starts with understanding.

Before you can consistently perform a movement, you should understand what you are doing, when you are doing it, and why you are doing it. Once those concepts make sense, the physical movement becomes easier to learn, correct, and repeat.

This course breaks the jump shot into simple concepts instead of overwhelming you with complicated terminology.

You will learn how your setup, alignment, power, and shooting motion work together. You will also learn how poor habits can interfere with your shot and how better habits can make your motion more repeatable.

This is not a course built around performing hundreds of random shooting drills.

It is a course about understanding your shot.

My goal is to help you recognize what you are doing, understand why it matters, and develop a shooting process you can take to the basketball court and practice on your own.

Whether you are a developing player, an experienced player struggling with consistency, a parent helping a young athlete, or a coach looking for a simpler way to explain shooting mechanics, this course provides a practical approach to understanding the jump shot.

You don't need to make shooting complicated.

You need to understand the process, develop better habits, and repeat them.

I am Coach Rod. I make shooting simple.

Who this course is for:

  • This course is designed for: Basketball players who struggle with inconsistent shooting. Players who want to improve their jump-shot mechanics. Young players who are developing their shooting foundation. Experienced players who feel their shooting mechanics have become inconsistent. Players who struggle to understand why they miss shots. Parents who want to better understand shooting mechanics while helping their child. Coaches and trainers looking for a simple way to explain the shooting process. This course is especially useful for players who have performed countless shooting drills but still don't fully understand why their shot works when they make it and what changes when they miss.
  • COACH ROD'S TEACHING PHILOSOPHY Understand it. Build it. Repeat it. I believe better shooting starts in the mind before it becomes consistent in the body. Instead of simply telling a player how to move, I want the player to understand: WHAT am I doing? WHEN should it happen? WHY does it matter? Then we work on HOW to perform it. That understanding makes it easier to identify mistakes, replace poor habits, and develop a repeatable shooting motion.
