Welcome to "Closing the Gap for Neurological Patients in Rural Iowa". A course dedicated to outpatient occupational therapy, neuro patients, and rural Iowa health care. In this course you will learn about the gap in occupational therapy care in rural Iowa and what I did during my doctoral capstone experience to work towards closing this gap. By participating in this course, I hope to increase your understanding of my doctoral capstone project including the development and implementation of the project. As well as find your own questions about the gap between care settings as I hope we as practitioners can continue to decrease this. By enrolling and completing this course, you will be able to access different assessment tools and intervention plans to implement in outpatient occupational therapy services as well as identify various health care providers and disciplines that impact referrals to outpatient therapy services.
At the end of this presentation you will find multiple references used throughout this experience to gather information and create content in which I hope you are able to utilize within your treatment setting. Within the resources folder, you will be able to access assessments and interventions I have compiled throughout my experience.
