When we think about climate change analysis, it often appears to be a highly complex task. This is mainly because climate studies usually involve non-linear processes, complex statistical formulations, and datasets that do not follow simple linear trends. As a result, many learners find climate trend analysis difficult, time-consuming, and technically challenging.
This course is designed to simplify climate change trend analysis without compromising scientific accuracy.
In this course, you do not need to deal with complex mathematical formulas or advanced programming. You only need to provide climate data in the proper and structured format. All necessary analytical tools are already provided as part of the course.
An upgraded Excel sheet, developed specifically for this course, is included. This Excel tool is preconfigured with all required formulas and statistical logic, allowing you to perform Mann–Kendall trend analysis and Sen’s slope estimation with a single click. This approach saves significant time while ensuring correct and reliable results.
In addition, ready-to-use AI prompts are provided. These prompts analyze the output generated by Excel and help you automatically prepare scientifically written result interpretations, suitable for reports, projects, and research papers.
No Formulas, Just Input Data
In this course, three major climate variables are analyzed:
Maximum temperature
Minimum temperature
Precipitation (rainfall)
For each variable, the course demonstrates:
Whether the trend is statistically significant
The direction of change (increasing or decreasing)
The rate of change (e.g., °C/year or mm/year)
The same tools and methodology taught in this course can be applied to any climate parameter and can be used for both historical and projected datasets. However, the primary focus of this course is on historical climate data, which is more reliable for understanding what has actually changed over time, rather than what may change in the future.
