Build a real, AI-powered web app with Claude Code, from an empty folder to a live site on your own domain.
Have you asked an AI to write code, watched it work, and had no idea why? And then watched it break, and had no idea why either? Most developers are stuck there: too nervous to trust AI, or trusting it blindly. This course is the road between those two.
You build ONE real product from start to finish: Inkwell, a blog platform with a full admin and AI features built in. You design it with Claude Design, build it with Claude Code, put Claude inside it with the Claude API, and ship it to production. No throwaway demos.
What you will build
A public reader site: home feed, post pages, categories, tags, search and comments
A full admin: dashboard, rich-text editor with autosave, media library, roles and user management
AI features inside the product, powered by the Claude API: a draft assistant that streams text, automatic SEO titles and descriptions, auto-tagging, image alt text from the image itself, and comment moderation
A secure, tested, deployed app with a custom domain, a CI pipeline and maintenance agents
What you master, step by step
Understand AI. Where it came from, how a large language model really works, tokens, attention, context windows and why it sometimes says something wrong with total confidence. Plain words, no maths beyond multiplication.
Claude itself. Which model to use and what it really costs, the Claude app interface, projects, artifacts, research, and prompts that get far better answers.
Claude Code. From first install to a professional workflow: explore, plan, code, verify. Plan mode, project memory files, checkpoints and rewind, specs instead of vibes, tests as the contract, reviewing AI diffs, and what to do when it gets it wrong.
Claude Design. Build a full design system and every screen without a designer, then hand it to your React code with the design-sync command.
Make Claude yours. Skills, hooks, plugins, subagents and MCP, so you teach it your rules once.
The Claude API. Your first request in TypeScript, streaming, structured outputs, images, tool use, adaptive thinking and effort, prompt caching and cost control.
Build. Spec, PRD and data model first. Then React 19, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind and Firebase: Firestore, Auth and roles, Storage, the public blog and the full admin.
Claude inside the product. Ship the AI features to real users with Cloud Functions, per-user limits and model routing, so the bill stays small.
Ship. Tests, performance, SEO, Firestore security rules, deployment, a custom domain, GitHub Actions, Claude Code in CI and scheduled maintenance agents.
Current for 2026
The course uses today's models (Fable5.1, Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Sonnet 5.5, Claude Haiku 4.5) and today's API. Many older tutorials are now wrong: settings such as temperature and budget_tokens return errors on the newest models. We trigger those errors on screen, then teach the correct way with adaptive thinking and effort levels.
What makes this course different
One real product. You finish with a deployed URL you can send to anyone, not a folder of exercises.
A real AI foundation first. You learn how the technology works before you rely on it, so nothing it does feels like magic.
Claude Design, taught properly. Design to code, including the hand-off.
The Claude API, taught properly. You use it by hand first, then ship it as real product features.
Honest. The failures are shown, not hidden. You learn when to trust Claude and when to check.
You also get
The complete Inkwell source code, with a checkpoint at the end of every module, so you can join anywhere and you are never stuck
A prompt library: tested prompts for specs, features, bugs, refactors, reviews and design
Project memory-file templates, a skills and hooks pack, and spec and PRD templates
A Firestore security rules cookbook and an AI cost calculator
A cheat sheet, a quiz and a hands-on challenge for every module
Updates when Anthropic or Firebase ship major changes
Who teaches this
I'm Hashmath, from OctAcademy. I build web apps, and I teach developers to build them: React, Angular, TypeScript, and now Claude. I have one rule in every course I make: no throwaway demos.
A note on the tools
Claude, Firebase and every library keep changing. Buttons move and names change. This course teaches the ideas and the workflow behind the tools, so you can keep up when your screen looks different from mine.
You only need basic JavaScript. No AI experience, no design experience and no back-end experience. Enrol, and I will see you in the first lecture.
