What you'll learn

  • Choose suitable agent, workflow, recovery, and escalation patterns for CCAR-F scenarios.
  • Evaluate tool and MCP designs for schema quality, least privilege, minimal results, error semantics, and retry safety.
  • Select the appropriate Claude Code mechanism for project guidance, reusable procedures, permissions, sessions, and automated workflows.
  • Apply prompt design, structured output, semantic validation, repair, batching, and independent review.
  • Diagnose failures involving context, provenance, resumption, confidence, and human review.
  • Identify the decisive constraint and explain why each alternative is weaker.

Description

Prepare for the Claude Certified Architect Foundations exam

Prepare for the Claude Certified Architect Foundations (CCAR-F) exam with six full-length practice exams and 360 original scenario-based questions. Each 60-question mock uses the published 120-minute format and covers all five exam domains.

Every question includes an explanation for the correct answer and a separate explanation for each incorrect option, so you can identify the decision rule, diagnose why a plausible alternative fails, and target the exact topic you need to revisit.

This is a practice test course. It does not contain video lectures or award a Udemy certificate of completion. It is intended for learners who have read the current exam guide and have practical familiarity with the Claude API, Claude Code, the Claude Agent SDK, or Model Context Protocol.

What is included

The question bank is balanced across domain, scenario, response type, difficulty, and answer position. Each item is checked for technical accuracy, ambiguity, originality, unintended clues, and terminology changes. These controls make the result more useful as an assessment of architecture judgment.

  • Six timed practice exams with 60 questions in each exam.

  • A mix of single response and multiple response questions.

  • Coverage of all five published CCAR-F domains in every exam.

  • An explanation for the correct answer and a separate explanation for every incorrect option.

  • A decision rule that identifies the principle tested by each question.

  • A retry cue that points you back to the fact or constraint you may have missed.

  • Question sources maintained against current official documentation.

How the explanations support learning

Every question explains the decisive fact in the scenario and why the selected answer addresses it. The review also explains why each alternative fails, introduces unnecessary risk, or solves a different problem. Read the explanations even when you answer correctly. A correct guess can conceal the same misunderstanding as an incorrect answer.

The questions are written from the published exam blueprint and official product documentation. They do not use recalled, leaked, copied, or lightly rewritten exam items. Difficulty comes from engineering tradeoffs such as speed and reliability, adaptive and fixed workflows, prompt guidance and deterministic controls, context continuity and isolation, broad access and least privilege, or retryable and terminal failures.

Use each missed question to identify a specific gap. Decide whether you missed a stated fact, confused two mechanisms, selected a partial mitigation, treated guidance as enforcement, or applied a recovery action to a terminal result. Then verify the relevant mechanism in the official documentation before attempting the question again.

Coverage across all five CCAR-F domains

Each practice exam contains 16 Agentic Architecture questions, 11 Tool and MCP questions, 12 Claude Code questions, 12 Prompt and Structured Output questions, and 9 Context and Reliability questions. These rounded counts are an internal design based on the published percentages. The live exam may distribute individual questions differently.

  • Agentic Architecture and Orchestration: choose among a single model call, agent loop, fixed chain, adaptive workflow, coordinator and subagent system, parallel work, bounded recovery, and human escalation.

  • Tool Design and MCP Integration: evaluate names, descriptions, input schemas, minimum results, error categories, retry behavior, least privilege, resources, scopes, secrets, and built-in versus custom tools.

  • Claude Code Configuration and Workflows: distinguish memory files, scoped rules, skills, subagents, hooks, settings, permissions, plan mode, sessions, and automated execution.

  • Prompt Engineering and Structured Output: write measurable criteria, choose representative examples, constrain output shape, validate semantic relationships, repair correctable failures, process batches efficiently, and use independent review.

  • Context Management and Reliability: protect critical facts and provenance, externalize durable state, resume safely, manage long context, calibrate confidence, sample automated work, and design effective human handoffs.

Recommended study sequence

Take Practice Exam 1 under timed, closed note conditions. Finish the exam before reading the explanations. Review the domain report and classify each missed question by its underlying cause. This gives you a focused study plan instead of a general instruction to review the entire syllabus.

Study the weakest domain next. Read the rationale for every answer choice, verify unfamiliar mechanisms in the official documentation, and explain the decision rule in your own words. If possible, build a small example before moving to another exam.

Take the remaining exams in uninterrupted 120 minute sessions. Read multiple response questions carefully because every selected answer must satisfy the complete set of constraints. Use later exams to confirm that you can apply the same principle when the system, failure, and wording change.

Anthropic reports the official result on a scaled range from 100 to 1000, with 720 as the published passing score. Udemy requires a percentage for each practice test. The 72 percent value in this course is only a platform completion marker. It is not a conversion of the official score and does not predict your exam result.

Prerequisites and current exam information

At the most recent source check, Anthropic describes the assessment as 60 questions in 120 minutes, using multiple choice and multiple response formats. Eligibility, price, delivery, scoring, retake rules, product behavior, and terminology can change. Review the current certification page, exam guide, and frequently asked questions before scheduling an attempt.

Foundations is the certification level, but practical experience is still important. You should be able to read a basic JSON schema, recognize an API request and tool result, understand the purpose of an agent loop, and navigate the main concepts in Claude Code and MCP. You do not need advanced experience in every domain, but you should be prepared to consult documentation and test unfamiliar behavior.

The course is intended for solution architects, software engineers, AI engineers, developers, DevOps and platform engineers, and technical leads preparing for CCAR-F. It is also useful after official training when you need timed practice and detailed feedback before scheduling the exam.

Independent preparation material

This independent course is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. Claude, Claude Code, and the certification name are used only to identify the subject. All practice questions are original preparation material and are not represented as live exam items. Enrollment does not provide exam eligibility, an official credential, or a guarantee of passing.

Use these exams to identify weak domains, improve your decision process, and verify your understanding before scheduling the official assessment.
