This lecture is the first important step in the journey of getting to know our piece: learning and understanding the cultural context which is behind the composer and the birth of the music, in this case Romanticism.
As a further step forward we get to know here the story behind the piece itself what it is about and how to get into its atmosphere.
This unlocks a good degree of understanding and a different way of listening to it.
Now it is time to go deep into the music itself and getting able to follow the flow of the music, its tensions and distensions, being carried by them without losing the grip and our mental presence.
Our job on this excerpt is now done and the quality of our listening is way above the beginning mark: the listening experience is completely different.
I decided to include this lecture to summarize and have clear some things we discovered in the previous section and give you some good tips which can help greatly your own exploration of classical music.
Time to say goodbye already!
