Description

Detailed Course Description:

The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a globally recognized certification in the field of information security. Offered by (ISC)², it validates a professional’s ability to effectively design, implement, and manage a best-in-class cybersecurity program. The CISSP certification covers eight domains of the (ISC)² Common Body of Knowledge (CBK): Security and Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Architecture and Engineering, Communication and Network Security, Identity and Access Management, Security Assessment and Testing, Security Operations, and Software Development Security.

To qualify, candidates must have at least five years of paid work experience in at least two of the eight CISSP domains. A one-year waiver is granted for having a relevant four-year college degree or an approved credential. The CISSP exam is rigorous and tests both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of cybersecurity principles.

Holding a CISSP demonstrates a deep understanding of cybersecurity, risk management, policy creation, and compliance. It is ideal for experienced security practitioners, managers, and executives. Beyond technical knowledge, the certification emphasizes ethical behaviour, requiring adherence to the (ISC)² Code of Ethics. Earning and maintaining CISSP status through continuing education helps professionals stay updated in a rapidly evolving threat landscape and enhances career prospects across industries.
