  • Wireless Networks16:08

In this video, we cover the fundamentals of wireless networks, starting with an introduction to electromagnetic waves and how they carry data over the air using radio frequencies (RF). We explain the basic concepts of RF, including the available frequency bands commonly used for wireless computer networks, such as the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The video also discusses the key IEEE standards that define wireless communications, like 802.11, and explores essential concepts like Basic Service Set (BSS) and Extended Service Set (ESS), which are fundamental to how wireless networks are structured and managed.

  • Cisco Wireless Networks15:28

Master the fundamentals of Cisco wireless networks with this comprehensive CCNA 200-301 video! We dive deep into the Cisco 3-layer switching architecture, breaking down its core components and functionality. Additionally, we explore the three main types of wireless architectures: Autonomous, Split-MAC, and Cloud-based, explaining their features, benefits, and use cases. This video is designed to enhance your understanding of wireless networking concepts, preparing you for success in your certification journey!"

  • Wireless Networks Security13:05

In this video, I cover the essential aspects of wireless network security, including common security risks and the importance of implementing robust security measures. I explain key security parameters, starting with open authentication and its vulnerabilities. I also explore the history of WEP, highlighting its weaknesses and why it was replaced. Finally, I dive into WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), discussing both WPA Personal and WPA Enterprise to help you understand their differences and when to use each. This is a must-watch for anyone preparing for their CCNA or looking to strengthen their wireless network knowledge!"

  • Routing Basics8:59

"Learn the fundamentals of routing in this CCNA 200-301 video! We cover how routers work, the structure and purpose of routing tables, and the differences between connected, static, and dynamic routes. Perfect for beginners looking to build a solid foundation in networking concepts!"

  • Configure Static Routes18:04

In this video, I walk you through the configuration of static routing on Cisco routers, a crucial topic for the CCNA 200-301 exam. Static routing allows network administrators to manually define routes, providing greater control over data paths and improving network efficiency in certain scenarios. I explain the fundamental concepts, demonstrate the step-by-step configuration process using Cisco IOS commands, and verify connectivity between networks. By the end of this video, you’ll gain a solid understanding of how to implement and troubleshoot static routes in a lab or real-world environment.

  • Configure IPv6 Static Routes11:29

In this video, I dive into IPv6 static routing for the CCNA 200-301 certification, breaking down essential concepts such as host routes, network routes, and default routes. You'll learn how to configure each type of route and understand their roles in directing IPv6 traffic efficiently. Whether you're new to IPv6 or preparing for your CCNA, this tutorial simplifies static routing to help you grasp these critical topics with ease.

Description

Part 5: Wireless & Routing Fundamentals

In this module, students will develop a strong foundation in both wireless networking and routing concepts, essential for understanding modern network infrastructure.

We begin with wireless basics, covering the fundamentals of Wi-Fi, including frequency bands (2.4 GHz & 5 GHz), IEEE 802.11 standards, and wireless communication principles. Students will learn how access points (APs) enable connectivity and the role of SSIDs in network identification.

Next, we explore Cisco wireless networking, focusing on deployment models such as autonomous, lightweight, and controller-based solutions. We will also discuss Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) and the CAPWAP protocol, which helps manage APs centrally for improved scalability and efficiency.

Security is a crucial aspect of wireless networking, so we will cover Cisco wireless security best practices. This includes encryption methods like WPA2/WPA3, authentication protocols (802.1X), and techniques to mitigate threats such as rogue APs and wireless interference.

Moving into routing fundamentals, students will understand how routers forward packets, the difference between static and dynamic routing, and how administrative distance influences route selection. Finally, we will apply these concepts with hands-on configuration of IPv4 and IPv6 static routing, ensuring network devices can communicate efficiently across different subnets.

By the end of this module, students will be able to deploy secure Cisco wireless networks and configure static routing for seamless network communication.
