Chumpi Stones are known as healing stones; they have been used for centuries by the Q'ero shamans and healers in the Andes. They are used in healing practices to initiate and transmit lineage rites and connect us to the sacred mountains. They are stones carved with humps on them to represent holy mountains. Sometimes, you will find them advertised as 'mountain stones.
Most Westerners are immersed in a culture that teaches separation from nature and the cosmic influences radiating through our planet; we crave and need this connection. The Chumpis can play a vital role in concentrating attention and facilitating healing.
Understanding Andean knowledge is complex and highly specialized, with 5.000 years of history. It has a language, culture, worldview, and thinking system. We will only scratch the surface.
Soft limestone or alabaster is the most common material from which these stones are carved. Once carved, they are coated in an ink-like brown paint with images carved into them. You will also find the stones carved from black or red hematite ore - a meteorite stone. These stones are common in the Andean Mountains - they do not have images carved. Crystals are now commonly used, particularly Amethyst, Citrine, Jasper Lapis Lazuli, and Clear Quartz. Some collectors like a set made with a different crystal for each Chumpi Stone.
The resource article gifts you with an exciting perspective. As you know, I came to shamanism heavily influenced by my long-term yoga practices. Many Sanskrit concepts have correspondences in the Andean teaching.
The concepts of chakras, prana, and aura are well-known in the Western world...
To understand the Andean teachings, we need to examine Quechuan equivalents to some of the words used in yoga practice that describe the structure of our subtle bodies.
Did You Take Up The Challenge?
In the previous lecture, I challenged you to pick up a crystal or chumpi stone and bring it to your heart and third eye chakras. To bring and blow a simple breath blessing on it. Did you? If not, then please do this now.
Unfortunately, the Udemy App does not support the Assignment feature. They are well aware of this and have NO PLANS to remedy it. This causes a lot of irritation to learners; thus, I am making this available for those app users. If you would like feedback from me, please post your answers in the Q&A section.
Be guided using clay and other mouldable materials to make your Chumpi Stones. Every stone is unique, and you will be making these with love. Every mountain on your stone has three circles around it. These circles represent the lower, middle and upper worlds. Once you have done this step, you can choose and carve other sacred symbols into your stones.

In this introduction to making your own Chumpi Stone Oracle or Divination Deck, I will introduce you to the materials you will need to gather.
There are various papers and light printable boards on the market. Plus, to make them last, I suggest you have them laminated.
An oracle card deck is simply a set of cards or other objects that allow you to ask questions from spirit.
When creating your oracle, you can choose what kinds of symbolism and energy you want to connect with. In our case, it will be Chumpi Stones and Sacred Geometry.
I recommend at least 120gsm paper as it has enough weight in it for you be handle the cards. You might also consider purchasing precut cards. They have some fantastic shapes for you to choose from.
A brief look into the relevance and meaning of your chumpi stones and or oracle cards. Please use this to connect with your chumpi stones or cards on a deeper level.
Remember you can choose you own meaning for both - this is intended as a guide to get you started on your unique spiritual journey.
Here is a brief look at the sacred geometry cards we will make together. Mathematically, historically, and spiritually, the impact of sacred geometry symbols on the ancient and modern worlds is irrefutable. It is your relationship with them that brings in the power behind them.
Make your own Healing Divination Chumpi Stone cards. There is a template here to download to create your card set. Later in this course, you will use your deck to clear a healing grid. But first - let's get on with making your deck.
Share Your Creative Experience
We have made both chumpi stones and oracle cards. Please share a photo of your endeavours either of the Q&A.
Share your experience through pictures or words - if you have purchased your stones share a picture please!
Only three of the sacred mountains (apu) surrounding Cusco resonate with me—Apu Ausangate, Apu Salcantay, and Apu Picchu alto. The other mountains I work with for my Chumpi Stones are Apu Annapurna, Apu Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) in Nepal, Apu Kosciuszko here in Australia, and finally, in Austria, the breathtaking Apu Hohe Salve. However, you need to find your mountains for your stones.
Please use the Moving Mountains Active Meditation below to start your journey to connect your Chumpi Stones to mountains that resonate with you.
When you are ready, look through your ancient eyes, allowing your eyes to soften, bring your awareness to your sacred breath, and feel each breath as it comes in and goes out… allowing it to be as it is, allowing it to flow easily and naturally, with its rhythm and pace, knowing you are breathing the one breath that breathes us all.
Let your body move in any way it feels it wishes to - surrender to this moment.
We will create a beautiful ritual to birth your Chumpi Stones. Whether you have purchased or made them yourself, this is a wonderful way to welcome them into your home and heart. They are about to become part of your sacred collection of tools.
There are three PDF's here for your reference
Outlining the ritual as explained in this lecture

When your chumpi stones arrive - or after you have made your own set, you will want to start afresh by cleansing them. After you have chosen the best way for you, it is time to energise them - to make them your own by beginning to weave your relationship with them.
You can explore several time-honoured methods.
Join me in the easy-to-do ritual to begin your journey into working with the basics of sacred geometry. We will use the cards you have created. Remove the cards about the mountains, shapes and shadows. Then, separate the sacred geometry card for this ritual. Using those cards, either shuffle or intuitively pick a card to work with for today.
There are many uses for your Chumpi Stones in your scared toolkit. From sitting in a meditation circle surrounded by the. Use them in blessing bowls (not water in these ones!). Make an altar dedication an affirmation. Use them to intuit your Reiki, go on a shamanic journey - it is endless.
Welcome to this introduction to your Chumpi initiation into two Rites or Karpays from the Munay Ki - the Bands of Power and the Harmony Rite. These Karpays of Rites are energy medicine from the high Andes. Chumpi Stones were originally used in these karpay rituals.
This is a beautiful visual representation of what the Bands of Power look like after you have woven or installed them into your aura or luminous energy field. I always love a visual to inspire and guide me.
Many of us know the Bands of Power Rite from the Munay Ki by Dr Alberto Villoldo - the medical anthropologist who had a 25-year-long initiation with the Q'uro in Peru. This Rite, or Karpay, is one of the Rites that traditionally used Chumpi Stones to give and receive the Rite. Please gather the first five of your stones for the Rite.
This guide is to help prepare you to receive this Rite if you have not done the Munay Ki should you choose to do so. It is an energetic Rite that is seeded into the main seven chakras that run from the base of our spine upwards to our crown chakra.
The Munay Ki Harmony Rite is traditionally the third Rite or Karpay. In the Andes, it is called Ayni Karpay. Simply, it is an energy transmission that installs the seeds of seven Andean archetypes into the seven chakras (based on Hindu cosmology). These seeds are germinated by a fire ceremony that awakens them so that they can create chakras full of light.
Seven chumpi stones can be used to install archetypes into the seven major physical body chakras. Optionally, an eighth chumpi stone can install an archetype into the chakra of the energy body above the crown. If you do not have an eighth chumpi stone, you may wish to use a favourite crystal or pi-stone.
You can also use this as a template for the Starkeepers Rite from the Munay Ki.
I recommend you use this fire ceremony from my Munay Ki course to help confirm the Karpays or Rites you have received. You may use it for the Chumpi Bands of Power, Chumpi Harmony Rite or the Starkeepers Rite.
Fire is one of the most essential aspects of shamanism. It is commonly used in rituals and ceremonies to facilitate healing and transformation. Fire ceremonies have been a significant part of shamanic traditions for thousands of years, and their purpose goes beyond keeping warm or cooking food.
Allow the dance of the flames from a humble candle, to a larger fire, to the beams of the sun to represent the energy of transformation, purification, and illumination.
Try this with a Chumpi or any other crystal or talisman that works with you. Listen with your heart to the darkness of night; tune in, and you will hear breathing.
It’s more of the sensation of feeling the breathing and sounds of the night—the whisper in the trees, the movement of the creatures of the night, the land we all share, then sensing further afield, feeling the stars above—that deep connection.
Welcome to this introduction. Please gather your chumpi stones, cards, water and journal. In this lecture, we will introduce the following meditative shamanic journey.

Thank you for stepping into the wonderful world of Chumpi Stones and beginning to work with them. We have either made or purchased Chumpi Stones. We have created a wisdom divination deck and started to work with it. Plus, we have initiated into two of the Rites of the Munay Ki using our stones.
I trust you have enjoyed this journey.
Welcome to Your Introduction to Working with Chumpi Stones
Join me, Sharon Ramel, a pioneer of teaching authentic shamanism on Udemy, as we take a mystical and energetic journey into the world of the Andean shamans—the Q’ero. This course is designed for those who feel called to explore the sacred wisdom of the Chumpi Stones, used for centuries in the high Andes for healing, empowerment, and connection to the sacred mountains, the Apus.
What Are Chumpi Stones? Chumpi Stones are powerful healing tools, traditionally used by the Q’ero shamans to initiate and transmit lineage rites. They act as a bridge between the mountains of Peru, the cosmos above, and your personal energy field. But these mountains may not hold meaning for you—and that’s okay! Through a guided shamanic journey, you will discover the mountains that wish to work with you personally, creating a unique and deeply personal relationship with your Chumpi Stones.
Experience Over Expertise I do not claim to be an expert in the Q’ero lineage nor a direct descendant of the medicine men and women from whom these teachings originate. Instead, I invite you to open your heart and experience their energy for yourself. This course is not about rigid instruction—it is about stepping into the energy of the stones, feeling their resonance, and allowing their wisdom to unfold within you.
No Chumpi Stones? No Problem! If you don’t have a set of Chumpi Stones, don’t worry! We will create our own handmade Chumpi Stones using modelling clay, infusing them with sacred intent. Remember, even purchased stones may not have been made ceremonially. Plus, as an additional tool, we will create an oracle card set based on the Chumpi Stones and sacred geometry—another powerful way to access their guidance.
Initiation Through Rites of Power As part of this journey, you will receive two powerful rites (Karpays) woven into your energetic field: The Bands of Power Rite – Energetic protection woven into your luminous architecture. You may recognise this from the Munay Ki—it originates here! The Harmony Rite – We take this further, planting the sacred mountains into your chakras. If the traditional mountains do not call to you, I will guide you to find your own through a meditative journey.
The Chumpi Stones & Your Chakras Each Chumpi Stone is associated with a sacred Apu (mountain) and a chakra, forming a map of energetic alignment:
Crown Chakra (7 Points): Apu Machu Picchu
Third Eye Chakra (6 Points): Apu Wakaywillka
Throat Chakra (5 Points): Apu Saqsaywaman
Heart Chakra (4 Points): Apu Wuanakaury
Solar Plexus Chakra (3 Points): Apu Pachatusan
Sacral Chakra (2 Points): Apu Salkantay
Root Chakra (1 Point): Apu Ausangate
However, different shamans work with different mountains. This is your journey—you will connect with the ones that are right for you.
Step Into the Sacred This course invites you to develop your own relationship with the Chumpi Stones through hands-on practice, meditation, and ritual. You will learn to listen to their whispers, feel their energy shift within you, and allow them to guide your spiritual path.
Are you ready to awaken the wisdom of the mountains and connect deeply with these ancient stones? Let’s begin.
