Instructor
Sanela Ksela is a MA sinologist who started to get engaged with China and Chinese language in 2013. She has been studying Chinese language for more than eight years. During this time she has gained a huge specter of knowledge in the field of Chinese language (in 2016 she completed HSK 6), which includes spoken and written language, classical and modern Chinese.
However, to become a MA sinologist, there are a lot of other things she had to learn and experience. Especially in the last three years, the emphasis was on learning the cultural background, including Chinese philosophy, literature, arts, development of characters, politics, economics, etc.
It's essential to understand the cultural background when learning Chinese language. Without it, it simply doesn't make sense to learn this beautiful language.
This is one of the things that are making her courses special - she is able to deliver to you a cultural background in an interesting and simple way - something you will not find in any other place.
She earned a Master's degree in Sinology after studying for seven years at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), at the Department of Asian Studies. During this time she has traveled to China more than ten times and stayed there for more than three years:
- She was studying Chinese language for five semesters at Central China Normal University (CCNU) in Wuhan and
- Chinese modern and contemporary literature at Yunnan University in Kunming for one semester.
During her studies, she received exceptionally high-quality lectures by the most prominent professors in Slovenia and around the world, who have been researching various areas of Chinese culture for decades. In addition to receiving knowledge from Slovenian experts in various Chinese fields, she also had the honor of learning about China and the Chinese language through the eyes of prominent Chinese professors.
Last but not least, the thing that makes her courses so interesting and engaging is her passion for China and Chinese language - a passion that cannot be found anywhere else.
