Child exploitation for middle and high school teachers

Welcome to this trial educational video series designed specifically for teachers of middle and high school students in Japan.

In recent years, the sexual exploitation of children—whether through Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or commercial sex (child trafficking)—has been increasing at an alarming rate. These risks are present not only online but also in homes, schools, and communities. As an educator, you are uniquely positioned on the frontlines of this issue. Often, teachers are the very first adults who notice changes in behavior, signs of distress, or other indicators that a student may be experiencing exploitation. Your role is critical: you are not only an instructor but also a trusted adult who can provide guidance, protection, and hope.

This introductory series consists of five short, focused videos. Each lesson is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical tools you need to:

• Recognize early warning signs of potential exploitation.

• Create a safer learning environment that reduces vulnerability.

• Understand your role in prevention and early intervention.

• Support students in taking their first steps toward freedom and safety.
