Now, we’re going to use ChatGPT to turn a panoramic photo, into a scrolling video.
Ok, so here is the panoramic photo that we’re going to use in the beginning.
And here is the video of the end result so that you know what we’re trying to make.
This really brings the photo to life.
If you aren’t an expert programmer, this wouldn’t be very easy to make.
This is just one of many examples of the type of thing you can do with AI. It should give you an idea of what else you may want to make.
This particular example doesn’t really matter, it’s all about the process.
So. How did we do it?
The first prompt we gave was this:
“Here is a panoramic photo. Can you help make a video of this starting full screen left to right, and send me the video as an mp4?
Of course we uploaded the photo first.
This isn’t a particularly good prompt. It was the first thing that came to mind. One of the main points of the course is the idea that you really don’t need to be perfect with your prompts. Just start with something and see what comes back. Then adjust.
Here was the output from this first prompt:
Ok, so it sort of worked, but there were a couple of problems.
It had black screen at the top and bottom. And by the end of the video the whole screen was black.
So now we needed to make another prompt:
We said,
“Great. But can you make sure the video shows no empty black space. Make it start from the left and pan slowly to the right. The whole video should be 10 seconds long and show no black space. Make the video have dimensions 1920 x 1080 px”
If you didn’t know the pixel size, you could always look it up online. Honestly, you probably didn’t even need that though.
Again, here is the final result, which is exactly what we wanted.
Take home points:
Get creative. Did you think you could code videos with 2 pretty basic prompts? Or even think this type of thing was an option? Think about what else you can try.
Focus on the result, not the prompt. Just start with what comes to mind and see what happens. Have fun, play with it. Don’t worry too much and get stuck in prompt paranoia.
Often you won’t get your desired outcome with your first prompt. Don’t worry about that. Just have a conversation with ChatGPT and explain how you’d like it fixed.
Pretend ChatGPT is like a hard working employee who is always willing to help. Let it do all the work, and keep working, until you get what you want.
This free course on prompt engineering will help you level-up your AI skills in a big way. Most courses on ChatGPT are too similar to each other. The examples are boring and obvious.
In this course, you will learn exciting practical examples on how to use ChatGPT to its fullest.
What You'll Learn:
Cutting edge prompting techniques
AI vision
No-code programming
How to make an MP4 video with ChatGPT
How to make a panoramic video with ChatGPT
Data analytics
and much more...
This course is perfect for beginners, but even if you are an intermediate or advanced user of ChatGPT, it is still useful because of our unique examples.
Examples from this Course:
We teach the latest prompting techniques and terms - Personas, 'Lost in the middle', 'flip the script' prompting...
We take a panoramic photo and show you how to get ChatGPT to turn it into a panning video.
We get ChatGPT to use Python programming language to make an MP4 video you can put on YouTube.
We get ChatGPT to create a spreadsheet with realistic synthetic data, and then use ChatGPT to perform data analysis on it and make bar graphs, pie charts, etc.
We get ChatGPT to read a barely legible report card from 1985, and answer questions about it.
We get ChatGPT to read a school assignment in French, translate it to English, answer the questions, and get Dalle-3 to produce an image about it.
And much more...
