Introduction to Course and topics that will be covered.
Explore fractions as portions of a whole, including proper, improper, and mixed forms, and learn to add, subtract, multiply, divide, convert, and simplify using the GCF.
Learn the basics of exponents, defining the base and exponent, evaluating positive and negative exponents via reciprocals, and applying rules for zero and even or odd powers.
Discover how variables, like x, represent unknown numbers, learn common letter conventions for angles, exponents, sums, time, coordinates, and practice combining like terms and using coefficients.
Solve equations using roots and radicals by applying inverse relationships with exponents, isolating the unknown, and balancing both sides, illustrated through square and cube roots.
Use the substitution method to solve systems of linear equations by isolating a variable, substituting into the other equation, and checking solutions.
Learn to solve systems of linear equations using the elimination method by scaling to align like terms and cancel a variable, then solve and substitute.
Welcome to the Algebra 1 series as part of the Charles Education Project. My name is Leo. This is the first in what I hope will be a great collection of educational videos covering a vast number of relevant subjects in the Academic sector.
This course is designed to help you build a strong foundation in algebra, covering essential topics such as operating on integers and fractions, exponent and radical expressions, equations, inequalities, graphing, and real-world applications. Whether you're new to algebra or looking to strengthen your skills, this class will guide you through each concept with clear explanations, examples, and plenty of practice opportunities.
Throughout the course, you'll have access to resources after every lesson. These resources are available to help you review key concepts, practice problem-solving skills, and prepare for the final exam.
At the end of the course, you'll take a final exam to demonstrate your understanding of the material covered. This exam will be an excellent opportunity to showcase your progress and reinforce what you've learned. Get ready to dive into algebra and gain the skills you'll use in math and beyond!
Good luck, and I hope you make it to the end and through it all!
