Description
Dear learners!
I am truly honored to present my video course Čeština na gauči (Czech language on the sofa). This course comes with an original textbook based on my video series and you can download it after purchasing the course.
You can look forward to learning a total of 121 words throughout the whole course. Each video has about 5 minutes and presents 6 words. There are a total of 20 videos focused on various practical topics. However, you will learn much more: useful words in a context, their spelling and pronunciation, interesting and useful remarks and related vocabulary and grammar not in an overwhelming way. The complement to the videos is the before mentioned booklet of 70 pages which will help you expand your newly acquired knowledge from the videos.
The topics presented in the book are practical and a perfect for everyday life communication. Although each lesson is focused on teaching items (mostly nouns), the additional exercises will not only help you practice the words in context but also get you acquainted with related vocabulary such as adjectives and verbs. You will also learn synonyms for each topic.
The structure of the book has a format which is common for all chapters. The style of exercises repeat frequently enough for the learner to get acquainted with it but it also varies time to time not to make it monotonous. See for yourself!
This book is meant as a companion to the videos, therefore it is highly recommended to watch the video first and then work on the chapter in the book. You will find the answer key to exercises at the end of the book as well as short summary of grammatical cases in Czech.
My idea was to create an entertaining material which would complement the video series perfectly. I made sure that I am mindful of those who have experience with the Czech grammar and enjoy studying it. Also, I was equally mindful of those who wish to experience the language and its culture.
I hope that by the time you have finished this course you would realize that learning Czech can be fun.

Vážení studenti! (Czech version)

Instructor
I have 16 years of teaching experience (Czech, English and Spanish language). Czech is my mother tongue and I love everything about it and do my best to show the beauty of it to my students. I am an extremely patient and attentive teacher and I always come to my lessons in a good mood because I truly enjoy what I do. Learning languages myself is what keeps me aware of struggles students might encounter when they learn Czech. I never forget how challenging it is to start learning a new language!
I have a BA degree in Language Teaching (English and Spanish) and a bisemestrial course from Charles University in Prague at teaching Czech for foreigners. I have worked at a language school and taught both individuals and groups and various age categories. Later I started teaching as a freelancer and moved most of my teaching to an online environment. I have been teaching mostly on Skype for 7 years now and enjoy teaching students from all over the world.
Here are some testimonies of a few students of mine:
“Zuzka is an excellent teacher. Czech is a complicated language, but she teaches it step by step and always considers the interest of the student. The structure of her lessons allows the student to repeat what has been learned and then focus on something new.”
– Kristina from Germany
“Zuzka is vibrant, fun, and knowledgeable. My daughter is an English speaker of Czech descent taking Czech lessons with Zuzka - she truly enjoys them. Highly recommend!”
– Ivana from the United States
“Zuzka is a professional, highly educated, and amazingly talented Czech teacher. She is very patient and always gives you positive feedback. She never fails to bring her smile to each lesson. After just a few months of learning with her, I am amazed at how much I can understand the Czech speakers around me. “
– Abdeen from Canada
