Explore video resolution concepts for CCTV systems, including pixels, horizontal and vertical counts, and megapixel definitions. Learn common resolutions like 720p and 1080p and how frames per second affects storage.
Explore the differences between backlight compensation and wide dynamic range in CCTV cameras, showing how BLC brightens dark foreground regions while WDR balances foreground and background for clearer images.
Explore video compression technology to reduce storage and bandwidth for video. See how codecs like 264 and 265 reduce data size, enabling more footage on disks and easier transmission.
Explore power over ethernet basics, delivering power and data over a single cat5/6 cable. Compare older two-pair and newer four-pair standards, including IEEE 802.3af/at/bt, for power and data transmission.
Explore IP and IK ratings for CCTV cameras, define IP as protection against solids and liquids with two digits, and IK as impact protection from 0 to 10, with examples.
Learn to calculate storage and bandwidth for CCTV systems using the ACTi storage calculator, choosing camera numbers, streams, codecs (h.265/h.264), and determining days of reliable recording.
Explore solutions for CCTV networks beyond 100 meters, including PoE extenders, fiber optic links with media converters, and wireless access points, while managing power, line of sight, and bandwidth.
Connect a cctv camera to a laptop on the same network, assign a 192.168.x.x ip, verify with command prompt ping, and open the camera's live page to view streams.
Learn to scan a network with the free advanced IP scanner tool, list all devices, and identify IP addresses and device names across the network.
Identify customer requirements and purpose to select cameras, frame rates, and resolutions that meet CCTV goals, including license plate capture, vandalism prevention, and avoiding blind spots.
CCTV systems are widely used for surveillance, security, and monitoring purposes, providing valuable visual information in various environments. However, understanding the technical aspects of these systems can be complex. That's where this course comes in!
This course has been prepared by a certified CCTV security professional for those who wants to join security industry as their profession and who wants to refresh their knowledge in CCTV domain.
This course contains basic of CCTV system, how it works and types of CCTV system.
In this course, you will also learn about the CCTV camera features which plays a very crucial role in recording a good quality videos and how to optimum use of the available resources. For example, how to use WDR / BLC technology to avoid image darkness or over brightness.
I have also shared my field experience where I had provided solutions to the challenging issues. For example, A reputed client had different factories at remote locations and customer wants to view and playback the recorded video at his headquarter security control room.
Here, challenge was the distance (in kilometers) and the lack of network infrastructure between the factories and headquarter control room.
This challenge was solved by introducing wireless access points and now the client is able to view and playback the high quality recorded footage.
