Description
This course is about the fundamental musical theory of Carnatic classical music (south Indian classical music). You are going to learn about the melodic and rythmic features of the south Indian classical music, as well as the main compositional and improvisational forms, and the structure of a typical Carnatic concert.
Who this course is for:
- A musician interested in learning the general aspects of South Indian Classical music
- A Musicologists/Ethnomusicologist interested to widespread his knowledge about different musical cultures
- Whoever passionate about Indian music
Instructor
I'm a guitarist and composer since 2006, based near Pisa, Italy.
I studied rock blues guitar in Florence, Italy and Jazz guitar, along with jazz composition and arranging in Livorno, Italy.
I'm currently interested in ethnomusicology, especially into the indian and arab classical musical traditon, and their stringed instrument.
I think that playing music is a beatiful way to heal ourself from the diseases caused by a stressful life.
