Description
Career Search Rx is the most comprehensive job search training and professional development program available. It begins with helping students to develop a success mindset. We do so by engaging them in exercises that help them to block out their negative thoughts and self talk and give themselves permission to pursue and attain their professional goals. Then it helps them navigate the job search landscape. They develop their very own high-impact resume. Then they learn how to create and connection with their potential employer, by telling how their career story relates directly to their target job. They learn about the different interview formats and how to successfully navigate each. They enroll in continuous learning to build and hone high-demand skills. then finally, they practice their personal marketing strategy, which I call their Candidate Value Proposition (CVP) to create a vision in the employer's mind of them as a member of their team, doing the job they pursue. CSRx even walks students all the way through to receiving, considering and deciding to accept or decline and offer. Students who complete this training, emerge from it as confident, authoritative candidates who land their job. The bottom line is that Career Search Rx helps struggling job seekers live their best career life.

Instructor
I am a wife and a mom who is a people person by heart. I live in metro-Atlanta and have served as a Human Resources professional since 1991. Employee Relations and Recruiting are my passion because I enjoy interacting with others and helping them to see their possibilities and resolve problems. My work-study assignment in college as an assistant to the campus Director of Career Services piqued my interest in HR. My Director, Ms. Frances Davenport Finney, provided resources on job interview preparation and allowed me to type resumes for students.
My first full-time job after graduation wasn't in Human Resources; however, my Vice President, George Montague, took me under his wings and allowed me to review employment applications for job openings at our work location. This helped to strengthen my resume, and two and a half years later, I secured my first full-time job in the field of human resources as a test developer for the State's Government Merit System. From there my career has continued to grow.
My blog was borne out of my desire to write a book that provides practical job search tips and advice, from a spiritual, holistic perspective. I drafted about three chapters, then got busy with grad school; got married and started a family. In 2013, I became SPHR (Sr. Professional in Human Resources) certified. I started seeing other people's blogs, became interested, and thought that blogging might be a great alternative, or spring board to completing my book, so here we are today.
My sincere hope is that what I write will help you to live your best career life. Enjoy!
