CAD for Fashion Design

CAD is primarily used for creating patterns and textures. In this course, we will learn to use two software programs. The first is Photoshop, which will help us in creating color variations, designing patterns, textures, and developing various fashion designs such as saree designs, kurti designs, and kaftan designs. Photoshop is a versatile tool that offers an extensive range of features for creating intricate and detailed designs. With Photoshop, you can experiment with color schemes, manipulate textures, and create complex patterns, making it ideal for designing textile prints and fashion collections.

The second software we will use is Adobe Illustrator. This program is highly regarded for creating high-quality vector patterns, which are crucial for fashion design. Adobe Illustrator allows us to work with clean, scalable graphics, making it perfect for creating precise patterns and designs that can be used for fabric printing and garment production. Additionally, Illustrator provides us with the ability to download free design resources from the internet, which can be useful when we are looking for inspiration or need ready-made elements to incorporate into our designs.

By mastering both Photoshop and Illustrator, we will be able to create professional-grade fashion designs, develop unique prints and patterns, and work efficiently within the world of digital fashion design.
