A quick 30 question End-of-Course Mastery Assessment to help you determine how well you have understood and can apply the concepts covered throughout the course
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Every organization depends on business processes, but poorly designed processes create delays, unnecessary costs, duplicated work, errors, bottlenecks, frustrated employees and unhappy customers.
The difference between organizations that struggle with these problems and those that consistently improve performance often comes down to one capability: knowing how to understand, analyze, redesign and optimize the processes through which work gets done.
This practical Business Process Management (BPM) course gives you that capability. You'll learn how to take an inefficient business process from discovery and Process Mapping through analysis, redesign, implementation, control and continuous optimization—using practical tools, real workplace scenarios and one end-to-end case study.
This is not a course built around disconnected theories and tools.
You'll follow a complete Order-to-Cash / Customer Order Fulfillment process involving Sales, Inventory, Warehouse, Finance, Logistics and Customer Service. You'll investigate what is going wrong, map how work actually happens, measure performance, uncover root causes, redesign the workflow, evaluate automation opportunities, implement improvements and establish controls to sustain the results.
By the end, you won't just understand Business Process Management. You'll know how to lead a practical Business Process Improvement project from beginning to end.
Master an End-to-End Business Process Improvement Methodology
You'll begin with Process Discovery, learning how to understand the real process through stakeholder engagement, interviews, observation, documentation and available process evidence.
You'll define process boundaries, identify stakeholders, establish improvement objectives and use tools such as the Project Charter and SIPOC to create a clear foundation for your improvement project.
From there, you'll move into one of the most important skills in Business Process Management: Process Mapping and Process Modeling.
You'll learn to build practical Process Maps and BPMN models that clearly show how work flows across an organization. Using Process Mapping, Flowcharts, Swimlane Diagrams and practical BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation), you'll create an As-Is Process Map showing activities, decisions, responsibilities, handoffs and exceptions.
You won't be overwhelmed with specialist BPMN theory. Instead, you'll learn enough BPMN to confidently create and understand practical Business Process Models used in real organizations.
Measure, Analyze & Diagnose Process Performance
The course covers meaningful process KPIs and performance measures including Cycle Time, Lead Time, Waiting Time, Throughput, Capacity, Error Rates, Rework, Process Efficiency, On-Time Performance and First-Time Right.
You'll use these measures to identify performance gaps, bottlenecks, excessive handoffs, duplicate activities, unnecessary approvals, delays and non-value-adding work—moving your analysis away from assumptions and toward evidence.
You'll then learn how to find the real causes of business problems through practical Root Cause Analysis, applying tools such as the Five Whys, Fishbone / Cause-and-Effect Analysis and Pareto Analysis.
These tools will help you move beyond symptoms, uncover underlying causes and prioritize the issues creating the greatest business impact.
Redesign, Optimize & Automate Business Processes
You'll learn how to redesign and optimize inefficient workflows using Lean Process Improvement, Process Optimization and Workflow Optimization.
You'll identify and eliminate waste, remove unnecessary activities, simplify complex workflows, standardize inconsistent work, improve cross-functional integration and design an optimized To-Be Process.
You'll also identify repetitive, rule-based, high-volume and error-prone activities that are strong candidates for Process Automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and learn how to evaluate automation opportunities based on business value rather than technology trends.
The course also introduces Process Mining, Task Mining and modern BPM, helping you understand how process data can reveal actual workflow behavior, process variations and improvement opportunities.
You'll explore practical ways Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support Process Discovery, Process Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, process documentation, SOP development, improvement brainstorming, automation identification and stakeholder communication—while maintaining appropriate human judgment, confidentiality and governance.
Turn the To-Be Process into Operational Reality
Process Improvement doesn't end with a redesigned workflow.
You'll learn how to develop a practical Implementation Plan, assess implementation risks, pilot process changes, phase the rollout and prepare employees for the new way of working.
You'll explore Change Management, stakeholder communication and employee training so that redesigned processes don't remain diagrams on paper.
You'll also establish Process Ownership and Process Governance to create accountability for end-to-end process performance.
Control Performance & Sustain Continuous Improvement
Successful Process Improvement doesn't end when the new process goes live.
You'll learn how to develop a Process Control Plan using KPIs, performance targets, control thresholds, process ownership, escalation mechanisms, corrective actions and performance reviews.
You'll learn how to recognize process drift, manage corrective actions and apply PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) to support Continuous Improvement.
You'll also build a Benefits Realization Tracker to demonstrate whether your Process Improvement initiative actually delivered the promised results.
And because improvement initiatives must make business sense, you'll learn how to build a practical Business Case by evaluating implementation costs, financial and operational benefits, risks, Return on Investment (ROI), Payback Period and implementation priorities.
This helps you translate Process Improvement recommendations into the language senior decision-makers understand: business value.
Build Professional Business Process Improvement Deliverables
Throughout the course, you'll work with professional deliverables including a Project Charter, SIPOC, Stakeholder Analysis, Process Discovery Notes, As-Is Process Map, BPMN Process Model, KPI & Performance Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Improvement Register, To-Be Process Map, Automation Assessment, Business Case, Implementation Plan, Process Control Plan, Benefits Realization Tracker and Final Process Improvement Report.
This gives you more than knowledge of individual BPM tools.
It gives you an end-to-end methodology you can apply to real business problems.
By the end of this course, you'll know how to take a business process through:
Problem → Discovery → Mapping → Measurement → Analysis → Root Cause → Redesign → Automation → Implementation → Control → Continuous Improvement
And because the methodology is transferable, you can apply it across Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Banking, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, HR, Sales and other business functions.
You won't finish this course simply knowing more about Business Process Management. You'll finish knowing how to look at an inefficient process, understand what is really happening, identify why it is underperforming, determine what needs to change and build a structured path toward better performance.
Don't just learn how business processes work. Learn how to make them work better.
