Explore building a bus and a truck in Blender, mastering hard surface modeling with clean geometry and a well-placed modify stack, including wheels, steering wheel, wipers, and seats.
Learn to model a steering wheel for a bus and HGV in Blender, using eyeballed measurements, shrink wrap, and basic materials for the rim, arms, and column.
Build the bus in Blender by shaping the exterior and interior, refining the base model, latches, and walls, then install remaining parts, materials, and cleanup, with dedicated customization options.
Cut holes into the exterior panels of the bus and truck, add grilles and doors, and shape the engine compartment using loops, insets, and crease techniques for sharp, clean geometry.
Place and refine the bus exterior corner panels in blender by duplicating edges, extruding loops, and applying shrink wrap, smoothing, and precise vertex management to align with blueprints.
Install two windscreen wipers in Blender by appending from assets, position and scale them, and use a lattice with shrink wrap to keep blades flush; duplicate for the second wiper.
Apply cosmetic and functional adjustments to the bus front in Blender, including interior roof alignment, front lighting arrays, wheel well corrections, pole and door refinements.
Model a bus emergency exit door in Blender, building the frame, glass window, seals, and interior panels with extrusion and shrink wrap for precise alignment.
Perform a final cleanup of the bus model in Blender, refining wheel rims and mirrors, applying shrink wrap and solidify, removing references, and polishing panels for a ready-to-render vehicle.
Learn to model the rear of a bus or truck in Blender by assembling air tanks, a central tank, and mounting beams using loops, mirror, bevel, and shrink wrap.
Finalize the hgv unit by adding wipers, mirrors, and steps, and append previously created parts. Align lattices to windshields, shrink wrap, and render for a polished exterior.
Develop and assemble a full trailer model in blender by creating the undercarriage, lights, doors, and exterior shell, using precise naming, collections, and modifiers.
Demonstrate adjusting the trailer length in Blender by removing a wheel, reducing the array count, and repositioning components to fit rural roads.
Are you past the absolute beginner stage of Blender and want to challenge yourself a bit? Do you want a course designed to move you swiftly into modelling buses and trucks in a professional and smart way? Are you ready to impress people with your new skills and abilities? Join me, and I will bestow upon you knowledge of good practices of modelling techniques and will grant you newfound expertise!
We look at both the bus and the truck separately, treating both vehicles as separate tutorials that utilise many of the same practices, allowing you to seal your understanding of them. We'll create the various different assets including the wheels, seats, and wipers ready for both vehicles. We'll then move onto creating the actual vehicles. I'll show you highly productive ways of creating them so that you're not left fiddling with more vertices than you need to be; the workflow we adopt keeps raw topology to a minimum!
When you have finished the course, you will have two complete models that you can develop further; you can either rig and animate them, or simply place them into still scenes of your choice! You will also have the information necessary to create vehicles and assets of your own.
Did you know that it's possible to create detailed models like shown in the promotional video within a day? You're learning so it may take a little longer, but once you're done you should be able to significantly reduce your complex modelling times!
I encourage you to have a look at the preview lectures to get a feel for the pace and style of the course. Feeling confident? Are you ready to begin turning that boring cube into a marvelous vehicle? Enroll today, and let's begin building...
