Our family wasn’t big but we always found opportunities to get together and I remember everyone always having lively conversations about politics.
I decided to take a solo trip to a remote island in the Philippines, which allowed me to start really questioning everything that was my reality up until then. I knew there was no way back even though I tried to keep and stay engaged with my job.

The perceived sense of lack of control is very, very common and indeed a frustrating element in any burnout hero’s story. The situation was unfolding in front of me and I went from concerned to finally apathetic because I started feeling helpless.
