Module 4 Video Transcribed Speech to Text
Wordpress.com makes it really easy to create your own blog, so you can start sharing your ideas and building an audience. And these 5 steps will give you a solid foundation, so you can be proud to share your blog with others. The first step is to create an account on wordpress.com, and then choose an identity for your site. To get started, visit wordpress.com and click the button that says start your website. Next, enter your email address, choose a username, which you can change later, and a secure password.
When you're finished, click the button at the bottom to create your account. Now you'll be asked to choose a domain or name and web address for your blog, as well as a hosting plan. You can always do those parts later. For now, just select the free wordpress.com subdomain, and you can start with the free site option. When WordPress.com is finished building your site, you'll be prompted to either start writing your 1st blog post or begin building your site.
Let's start writing. Next, choose a name for your blog and then add a tagline to explain what your site is about. With your site identity in place, click continue and it's time to start writing your first blog post. Click the button to open the editor and start writing. 1st, add a title.
And then, simply start typing to add some text. In your first post, it's a good idea to tell people who you are, what your blog will be about, and invite them to join you on this new journey. But you're not limited to just text. Select the plus icon to add an image, a heading, a photo gallery, bulleted or numbered lists, or a quote. And you can browse a list of blocks that enable you to easily add media, like images and photo galleries, audio and video, or design blocks, like buttons and columns.
And there are widgets to add custom HTML and much, much more. When you finish writing your post, click the publish button in the top right hand corner, and your new post will be visible on your site. Now that you've published your first post, it's time to think about how you want your blog post to look on your website. WordPress uses themes to determine the visual design of your site, including the layout, colors, and typography. From the preview, click the my site link in the top left hand corner to access the dashboard, which is where you'll find all the site management features you'll need to create content and edit your site.
Under the appearance menu, select themes to browse all of the themes that are available for use on your site. When you find one you like, click to view more details about the theme. You can activate it with a single click or preview what your actual content will look like when the new theme is activated. In the customizer, you can further edit your site's appearance. Under site identity, you can add a logo, edit the site title, and the tagline, or you can edit the navigation menu, which we'll cover in the next step.
You can choose what content is displayed on the home page of your site, and you can choose a different color scheme or create your own. Of course, you can also choose which font you wanna use for the body text and headings throughout your site. And if you're comfortable editing CSS, you can further customize the design of your site to make it look however you want. Best of all, you can preview those changes in real time. And when you're happy, click the button at the top to activate the new theme and save your customizations.
Alright. You've created some content for your site and customized the design. Now, let's create a navigation menu so your visitors can find their way around your site. In the customizer, select menus, and then select the primary menu at the top. Right now, this menu just contains a link to our home page.
But you can add pages to your menu and even create new pages from here, which you can then edit later. I'll create a new about page and a contact page. And later, I can edit those pages to add some content. In addition to pages, you can also add specific blog posts or categories, tags, or even links to other websites. With your navigation menu in place, your readers will be able to find the content they're looking for on your site.
Now your blog is ready for the world. So how do you get people to read it? 1st, add a subscription form to any page or post, which will allow your readers to sign up and get notifications anytime you publish a new post on your site. Then invite your friends and family to subscribe so they'll be notified of your new posts. When you've completed these 5 steps, you'll have a solid platform for sharing your ideas and building an audience.

Hosting WordPress on Xampp Localhost Server
I just want to teach you how to install WordPress on the localhost by using Xampp. Okay. Now after I might have downloaded the WordPress, from the website, I extracted the WordPress. Look at the file, the downloaded file here.
I extracted the file and I have this WordPress file. Okay. So the next thing I did, I copied this WordPress file into the root folder where I installed my Xampp. And the root folder is in the local disk.
So open the local disk.
And the root folder is AVOID UAC that is name of the folder. And this is where I installed my Xampp. So I opened it. After pasting the WordPress on the HTDOCS, I want to rename my WordPress. It is optional.
I want to rename it considering the type of website I want to build, you can use it. Leave it like this. And I want whatever name I give to it, is what my database name will be. And as well, that is what my localhost web link is going to be.
So I rename it, BUSINESSWEB. Now after renaming it; business web, the next thing I need to do is to power my Xampp, and put my Xampp Control Panel and then power it. Okay. After powering the Xampp Control Panel, then you have to start them up.
Already you see they have started! You click here to stop them and they stop. Click here, you start them. Okay.
You start them, and then go back. And the next thing is to type "LOCALHOST" and to have my localhost dashboard, so that I can be able to create the DATABASE, and click at my phpAdmin, to have my database webpage open. Okay.
Now click at database, then enter my database name as 'BusinessWeb' Okay!. And say create, it is created.
The next thing is to install the WordPress now, localhost/businessweb. Em' come to the WordPress installation, Okay! And then let's go.
Now my database name is BusinessWeb, and username has to be ROOT. In every localhost installation, wordpress installation username is always Root, and the PASSWORD need to be BLANK, Okay! Take note about this! Once you are installing a wordpress, username is always root at the database, password, blank, okay! Leave the localhost and leave here, then submit.
Run the installation! Okay, here move in, the next thing, you can decide to put your site name, Business, Admin, Admin, Password; I'm using 123456, Okay! Confirm, the password is confirm, confirm use of password, click here, my web...DLS@gmail.com, Okay!
Okay! Success, and you can now login. This is the back login web place of your wordpress, Okay! So to login 'admin' and my password '123456' and login
This is it now. Here is called the back-end of the site. Okay! To see the front-end of the site, and you have to type 'localhost/businessweb.
This is the business, Okay! So that is it now, very easy and simple. This is front-end of the site, and this is the back-end of the site.
Okay! Thank you very much. This is how to install how to install wordpress in a localhost. Thank you.
Video Transcribed!
You're welcome! Let's talk about the BACK-END of the WordPress, and to look into some features or some tools that you can use to work with the back-end. Now begin from here, you want to switch over to the FRONT-END of your site, you look at here.
When you click here and then click here, the "visit site". It's open the front-end of the site. Okay! Now we have a place of UPDATES like when you click it and, what it does, it will show you updates. If you have themes update, plugins update, WordPress update, they will be listed over this place, then you can do your updates.
Now we'll have a place called the POST. We have "want to view all the post, want to add a new post. Posts are always made to have categories. You want to categorize your post assuming you are preparing a blog for news. You want to give a task, Okay! You use here to create your post.
Post always good for dynamic websites, Okay! Now we have a place of media, media updates like you want to upload video, pictures and so on, use media library here, and you want to add, you can click here. For instance, when you click here, and then it open for you. Then you can select a file here for upload and probably from your computer. And that's what it is. So, I'm not taking anything from now. Let's assume I want to select this file, okay...a picture and whatever it is. Okay. So that is it.
Now here, we have, for PAGES, we have All Pages. We want to create a new page, all pages will display the existing pages. Right now, when you click upon it, upon it, it will open up to show us how many pages we have in this place. And right now, we have only 2pages; privacy page and simple page. Okay. Now if you want to add a new page, you can click here or you click over the same, pages that have published, pages that you drafted that will show here. Now you can build a site that takes comment from the front-end.
When a site is receiving a COMMENT from the front-end, every comments people made on the front end you'll see them on this place. Okay. So you click it, all the comments appear here. And this is a sample of comment made here. Okay. You can unapproved reply, edit a comment, quick edit or full edit of comment. You can declare a comment to be a spam. Okay. And then you can trash a comment. So this is for comment.
Then we have APPEARANCE. Appearance here help you to, go for THEME settings. Okay. WordPress is made of many of THEMES and PLUGINS. Like here, we have, 2 themes, about 3 themes here. But from the screenshot, it's only 2 that are showing. We have three themes here. So you can change the theme. Okay. Let's activate this particular theme.
This is the present theme that the WordPress came with. Okay. Theme 22, theme 2022. So I'm switching over to 2020. Now and once I switch over to this theme, and then the front-end of this site will change. Let me see the site and see what will look like
So by clicking here, you see, the front-end of the site has changed. So you can see the front-end of the theme because we updated the theme. This was the current theme after installing the WordPress. This is the theme that we just activated. So the front-end change.
Now if you activate this particular theme now and see what will happen. Okay. Let's check and see how this particular theme look like....You see, so this is the theme when we activate this particular theme, this active theme. So we have the front-end of the site to look like this. Okay. Now when you activated-this, this particular theme, we have the front-end and to look like this. And then remember this was a particular theme, our default theme that the WordPress come. So one good thing about these themes, you can delete these themes and you can add a new theme on the site.
Okay. So here is a place where you can customize a theme. Okay by the time you click on it and then you can, want to customize the active theme, want to customize, customize means changing the appearance, how you want the front-end. Okay. So you click on it.
It's coming up. Okay. So you can customize the theme here, the color, the setting, site identity and so on here, of everything that you install on a WordPress, on a WordPress look at how the theme look like. Customize the theme, make your changes. Okay. So that is about it. And then this is for widgets, and then this is for menu, background, team file editor, which are you are going to learn each of them as you proceed.
The next thing to look about is a place for the PLUGIN. Okay. And then, install plugins, you can add a new plugin, you can edit a particular plugin. That is how, so these are the two plugins, default plugins that this WordPress came with, and they are not activated. So you can activate them. You can also delete them and plugins are being put according to what you want to do on the site based on the functionality of the site. Okay.
Now we have here show you the number of USERS. Total number of users are using the site. Assuming it is a site that involves login. Okay. You look at them over this place and then you can add a new user and you can view the profile of a user here. Okay.
Now we have TOOLS, the tools enable you to available tools here to import-export information. Okay. And then export personal data, erase personal data from the site.
Then, the one most important is to talk about the SETTINGS. And we install a site, we have to do some settings on the site. We have general settings for the site. We have writing setting, reading setting, discussion setting, and media setting.
PERMLINKS, permlinks talk about the addresses, web addresses of, of the site. Okay. Then will have for privacy.
So this is all we can talk about, concerning Module-2, touring around the site. Now in our next learning, we're going to learn how to use each of these tools in site building. Thank you very much!
Theme Selection and Installation (transcribed speech)
Okay. You are welcome. Welcome to module 4. In this module 4, I wanted to look at our scope of works. How the works is going to flow the steps.
Number one, we have theme selection, first plugin installation, page/post creation, and other ones. Now I begin this work with, theme selection. Okay. So, let's move straight for theme selection to the first one.
My WordPress dashboard now is open. So, what do I do? And then go to Appearance and then look for theme. And this is the first thing that you're supposed to do, after installing your WordPress. Okay. As you're building the website, you need to start installing your theme.
Your theme is the first work that you should do. Now you can have three themes here, the first theme, second theme, and the third theme. And I don't like these three themes. So, I feel like to put a new theme that I prefer to use.
So what I'll do, I'll go over here, say add new. Okay. And then, below on this dashboard, if I'm connected to online, WordPress dashboard automatically give you theme available, look at WordPress themes here. The reason why you see these themes showing here is because I'm connected online.
And if I'm not connected online, you will not see these, these themes are appearing here. So on the WordPress installation, WordPress provide you themes as you go online inside your WordPress dashboard building. Okay. So it's left for you now to select the particular theme that you want.
And where are these things coming from? These things are from WordPress.org website here. .Org website. This is where these things are. These things you see here all over here. They are from this place. Okay. They come from here. Now so, if you go here, you click themes. You see them here as well.
Okay. We have the themes here. Look at the themes here. Exactly. And all of them here.
Okay. Now so the reason why I have them here because I am connected online. And if I'm not connected online, I would download these themes on my own. Look. I can download them.
Since I'm using a localhost, I'm not going to be connected online. So what I do is I download them. Okay. After downloading them, I will now upload them. So on my own case, already I have downloaded them three themes I want to use.
I look at the three themes here, Astras, Consulting, and 2011 themes. Okay. So what I have to do now is to upload them and then inside my WordPress site. What exactly I mine trying teach you? I'm teaching you that you can install theme direct from the WordPress website.
Okay. Or you can download a theme and upload that particular theme to your website as you are developing. So I am following the method of uploading, since I am building my localhost, then I decided to choose the particular theme I want to use. Click this and it open, then see install now.
Installation started going. Okay. Installing theme from uploaded fil
Okay. So activating theme! I want to activate a theme. Okay. Now, let me go back to my theme and look at all these themes that I just installed now. I saw the theme that I just uploaded. Okay.
I'll run the installation. Let me see how the theme looks like at the theme. So look at the theme here. Okay. So with this method now, I'm going to install all the themes, I downloaded.
Then after installing them, I will now make selection on the right one to use. Thank you. So what I decided to teach you right now is theme selection and the installation. Thank you very much.
Video transcribed to speech
You are welcome! In our last session of training, we stopped at theme selection. Today, I want to explain about my first plugin installation for page creation. Okay! And the purpose why I have first-plugin for myself.
Now my first-plugin, if I'm building a website with WordPress is tinyMCE Advanced plugin. And, before making a decision for final theme selection and configuration, I must first of all create most of my useful pages such as overview or home, who we are, what we do, how we work, our updates, contact us, and other pages. So to create all these pages, I prefer classic-editor to block-editor. WordPress have two forms of editor. The first forms of editor is classic-editor, which is this: (Watch video)
This is the former editor that we are using before the modification and, look at how it looks like. And after this editor, WordPress bring the block-editor. So when you install a WordPress site, the first editor that you will have is, this editor as you go to pages to create or post to create any post or page. For example, let's add a new page here so that you can see the editor, the block-editor and how it looks like.
Okay! This is the face of the block-editor. And then welcome to block-editor. Okay! Let's go through it. As for me, I don't think it to be more friendly, and I don't use it because to me, it's not friendly for use. So I prefer to use the classic-editor, which is this, from classic-editor. So how do I change to classic-editor? This is where I'm going to download this plugin called tinyMCE Advanced and which will give me this particular class- editor. Okay!
So just like the case of the theme, I have two choice to make. Remember, when installing our theme, we can download a theme from the wordpress.org website and do upload or we can install direct. Okay! So the same manner here. Now I go to plugin and I say add new plugin. Okay! And then expecting the plugin page to open.
So this is the plugin page. Now the way you see, the reason why you are seeing this plugin showing is because I am connected online. Okay! So I have option to add plugins from there. Install plugin, install plugin because I am online. Okay! Now if I don't want to install directly from here, probably somebody gave me the plugin as a file. So what I do is upload.
So to do the upload process, I will just come here and then click here and click plugins. And as the page open, I will type the plugin I'm looking here. See! If I'm looking for: ‘tinyMCE Advanced’ I will type it. So that it can be able to come up for me.
So as you search for the plugin, tinyMCE Advanced, it appears. Then you run the plugin and load the plugin, and then you can upload the plugin through this place. Upload the plugin! Alright. Install the plugin now. Okay, activate the plugin. Good! Plugin activated. Now, check back the page if you want to add new page, and look at what happened. So you still have your block-editor. Now go and do some settings and then set the plugin, the advanced editor to use for tinyMCE Advanced, do settings on it. Okay!
We call it classic-editor, this the block-editor. So switch over to the classic-editor. Then add some necessary tools that you will work with. Like, I work with this button underline and, I use this for image.
So you can use selection and move, paste, for example, justify, and so on. So you can select as many as you want. Okay!
Now go down here, check about advanced options, an advanced options. Check replace the editor, block-editor with the classic-editor by checking this.
As you check it, come back and then click here, save changes. It is done! And go back to the page and refresh this page. So that is it.
You are now on your classic-editor. Thank you very much. And now that I have gotten this, the next you do, start your page creation, which we will do on the next class.
You are welcome! In our last session of training, we stopped at theme selection. Today, I want to explain about my first plugin installation for page creation. Okay! And the purpose why I have first-plugin for myself.

Create your WordPress Pages and Post (video transcribed to speech)
You are welcome! At this lesson, I want to talk about page and post creation. And in our last class, we talked about how to add a first plugin for text editor or your texting platform. So there's just a little difference between the post page and the page itself of WordPress platform. Okay!
Now let's take example. This is our page sample of this WordPress theme. Okay! And then just look at it. Okay!
Now you can, let’s have this post page and see the difference of it. Okay! The yellow world page, is a post and it has a place for comments and post comment, and so on. And, so this particular view is for was created with post, here, post, add post. Why this particular view, is created with a page, add page. Okay!
So we want to talk about the little difference between both of them and their similarities. One of the things to consider is using the same text editor tools. Both, post and page also use the same editor tools.
So both of them use the same editor tools. So there are editors, text editor is just the same. Okay! And that's one of the similarities between both of them.
The other is both of them use the same text writing platforms and purpose. They serve for the same purpose for text writing. Okay! Both of them have the same purpose, where you can write, you can bold, can write, can italize, you can write, you can change font, increase the font size, to whatever change font color, and so on. You can change font color.
So all you just need is just simple, word editing skill to edit your text on the platform. Okay! So both of them share the same platform for you for it. Another thing to look about is both of them use future image tool. Future image tool is what enables you to add an image on your page.
And look at this same here. And when you click on it, you can, either select. Okay! You can have this picture for instance, do this picture. Then Add a picture, then set the picture. Look at the picture! And then the picture is added here. So both of them share it. If I publish this thing as TESTING and then publish it now.
So you see the picture. I have a picture here. Okay! So both of them share the same thing. So if you do the same thing, you have the same results. That is what they are. What you did in the post on the future image, you did it on the new page. You also have the same results. Okay!
Then another thing to look about is, both of them have designers screen option on the, see your screen option here, click it as a designer. The things that you want to show on your board, on your back-end. Text editor platform back end. Okay! I want to put this for discussion to show, you click whatever you want to show.
As for me, since I'm not designing a blog, I'm designing a website, there's no to put discussion and put for the author and all the rest. So I just put page attributes and put future image and then click it up. So come down here. You see the future image and you have page attributes. Okay!
And then my page attributes parents. Assume I create plenty pages or many pages. I want one page to be the parent of many pages, so I can select a page here and then use other ones to make subpage under it like a tree format. Okay!
So, I, this is not much necessary. Okay! And then when I go for posting, you… you also see the same thing, which are image for the posting. Okay! That is it.
So both of them use the same screen options. Look at screen options here. You put format, you see categories, you see tags, which are in main. So all I did is to check those ones I will use to work, and those one I will not use to work I leave them. Like comments is checked. Okay! So you want the author to show since you are working a post, you can check for the place of the author. Okay! Then you can click it up. This is not in the page. So you have it here. How the place of the author here and to view. Okay! Now, that is the fewer similarity between both of them.
Now, what's the difference is page is mostly used for static information and then post is mostly used for dynamic information.
Now, when we say static information is that information you do not easily change update on your website. For example, we are building a website; about us, you write it once, you don't easily come back to update it daily. Okay! Now it means the information on that page is static. It doesn't change easily. You don't change them easily.
Now talk about dynamic information like news update; today you have a different information to show to the public or to show to your visitors. You could bring a new information, tomorrow you bring a new information. So such information are comes like updates or news. So when you want to make use of such information on your website, you use post and that's what we call them, dynamic information. Okay!
Now another thing we'll check about is page attributes is order and parent, which we have learned the differences. The page attributes of a page is what? Parent and order. I have explained all I give you numbers of pages. You want to give your pages number here. Okay!
Then as for the post attribute, include category and tag, very necessary. And then it's always good to build your post based on category. Now maybe you have as a business website here, we have, category for different products, product-a, product-b.
We want to, create a post for product-a. We want to create a post for product that fall into a's and product that fall into category b. So what you do, when you create a post here for category b, you come here and then add the category here. That's what I want to add a category. You can call it, product-b category.
Okay! Then you add the category. Then you can also add again; product, you can also add again, product. Add it here.
Now, assuming the person want to create pages, sorry, create a post that contain information on product-a, after creating that post, you have to select product-a. And then you create another post that contain information of product-a. So what is important on the category?
So whenever someone visit the site, and then you can come down on the post page, and then look for the category, and then click, all the categories appears here. Okay! Like that one will create now, we create that post, for example, let's take this now. Assuming we create this post now, say, service-a, shirt description. Okay! Shirt description, then we update it, we have it here. So if you create 200 post that fall under product category and when someone click this, all the post that contain that's under the product category, all of them will appear here, all of them will appear line by line. Okay! So that’s how it works.
Then another thing to look about is tag. Tag is also like post and what tag does is that in the same manner, post category function, that is the same manner tag function. What tag help is, it does not appear like category, but tags only appear like tags. You can use one single word, probably you say product-a and it will be tag tag-a. The essence of tag in search engine optimization is that Google search engine always use tag to get your post or WordPress site on their search engine, so that people can easily see your product.
This is what we learned this morning about this. Okay! So we'll do it practical when the time comes.
Now I'm going to create pages for my work and my first page here is overview. Overview, that is my first page. The time you will meet me in this class, I would have created all my pages, but this one way of creating a page. Okay!
So one thing about this, whether post a page, when you created them and even if you change your theme, it cannot affect them. So in next class, as we meet, I will create all my pages then and then go for the next class. Thank you very much. Bye!

Alright! You are welcome! Today, we are going to deal with theme setting. And remember on one of the previous class, I told you I'm going to make selection on the kind of theme I will use. And I have decided to use this theme title 2011. Okay!
And the other hand, I told you also that I'm going to create many pages that I will use to work. Okay! And look at the pages that I have, So, me of the pages that I have created. Okay! Now I've selected my theme 2011 and then look at the appearance of my theme after selection. How my theme looks like. So, in today's work, we are going to do theme setting. I have to set this theme So, that the appearance will look well. You look at how the pages are they show and their menu display is not proper. So, I have to make them look very Okay!
And that is one of the things we are going to do now. Just watch out, as we go forward. Then click over here. Come to appearance that contain all concerning the theme and some area of theme file editor. So, we have theme options here.
Okay! So, I click at the theme option at the first place, and theme 2011 theme options, I just clicked So, that you can see, you can decide the color skin whether light or dark. That depends, Okay! And what you want to do, and then how you want your text to appear. And is it here? Here is the area of widget, and widget on the right-hand side, left-hand side, no widget at all.
So, I decide to use widget on the left-hand side, which normally, this is how it's normally been. Okay! Now I want to customize theme. You just watch out the customization of the theme. I begin from site identity.
Now let me say one thing, there are some settings you made in the WordPress setting that will reflect here, and you don't need to see them again. Let's check about it like site-identity. We have that site title we made in WordPress setting is also here. “We make business look good with web”. Okay! That is a tag line. So, if you want to add an icon, site icon to your site, you can also add a site icon, what you need to do is just click here.
You can add a site icon depends the one you have. Like now, presently, this is a site icon. This is Xampp icon is a site icon. So, you can add your own site icon by clicking here if you have gotten any, and then select, and upload if you have some. So, we don't have one any. So, in your own image, decide to have site icon, but here I'm not adding any site icon. Okay! Now you set your site identity.
The next one is color. Already, I like the color of the theme. The color of the theme is on light, which gave me black and back background color and link color. I like the link color. This is how the link color looks like. This is how the header text will appear. This is how the background color will appear. Okay! So, I do nothing over there.
Then the next one is layout and content on left and content on right, one column no side. Like I showed you before, if you choose content on left, your widget will be on… your content to be on the left-hand side while your widget will be on the right. If you say content on the right side, it means your widget will be on the left-hand side. So, I prefer content on the left-hand side while my content will show here, around here, this area, why my widget will appear around this area. So, it all depends on me. Okay!
So, I switch over to other area, header image, and look at the images we have here. That's why I see them moving, all of them showing one after the other. Okay!
I can decide to add more images on this place if I want. I'm not adding any. Okay!. So, I go back here. Image background, I don't want to add any image background. I like the background to be colored. Then talk about menu, people, some people edit their menu on this place, their widgets on this place, but for me, I don't like putting it there.
And we will have home setting here, and as for my home setting, I’ve already picked my home setting. Remember in my page, I have overview. This is my overview. So, I'll take it as my front page. This is my home page. Okay! And then, that's my home page; overview page. Then post page, the place I want to use for blog. Okay!
So, I just say our blog. I choose our blog here as per page as post page. And what I do, I publish my setting, so, I can…as I choose the blog, look at how the blog, the blogs I have here, see how my blogs I have a blog and see what will happen…this is our blog and so on this blog, I created a page, titled as our blog. So, what I did is that…I now under the same setting here or under that theme setting you can do the same. Okay! So, let's go back on the customization again. When selecting home page settings, I click here and post page. I now selected the page titled our blog as my post page.
So, what does it mean? Each time I create a post, it will automatically appear on the post page which are tied to our blog. So, every post that I created will appear here because the posts are meant to serve as a blog. Okay! And this is this is why you have it.
This is a few blogs that I have, the importance of website company. These are the blogs, sorry the post that I created. Okay! So, I want to speak one thing, theme settings differ, there are themes that you will use, the setting will be a little complex. There are themes that you will use, their setting will just be simple tool. So, depends on the type of computer, sorry, it depends on the type of website that you intended to build and the particular theme that you like.
Look at the front end of this theme how it look like. Okay! And then check over my previous theme, look at how the front-end look like. I just like this theme because it is minimal in appearance. So, that does not make it to be better than this. So, it's of choice for me to use the kind of theme that you want to use.
So, as for me, this is my choice of theme.
Thank you very much for this class, and wait to see you again on menu creation. That is our next topic. Bye!
Video Speech transcribed to Text
You are welcome. Today we are going to talk about menus, post, custom links, and categories. Okay! So we take them one after the other. Now let's go where on our dashboard.
Okay! We have our dashboard. Here, to approach your menu, you click at appearance. I mean, appearance to cover menu, and then you have, click…then menu show. Now you have your menu in display in this way over this place.
We have the menu. And this menu here, we have add menu items, we have pages, we have posts, we have categories. Sorry. We have custom links, and we have categories.
So now we begin with, a side of the menu. So what you do is that you create your menu based on the, the theme that you are using. Some theme will permit you to have a primary menu, a top menu, and that menu, menu that will be on the foot, footer of the page. Okay!
Now most top menu appears on such a place like any of the theme and the most primary menu, you get them around here. And then, that thing you get them at the footer side of the theme. Okay! So here, you look, when you install a theme, you identify whether your theme have, such a space or not.
So what you do first, you create your, primary menu. Like as I'm going to create my primary menu. Here, create menu. Okay! Do not forget to save your changes.
Menu location, I choose primary menu as my menu location. Right click! Okay! And then save changes.
Okay! I'll switch over to edit menu. Okay, I have them now. Now check out here. Display location of my menu is I choose primary menus.
Okay! If I say auto add pages. If I tick check displays, that means whenever I created any page, whenever I create any page, the page automatically go to the top level pages to the menu. I'm not chosen that one, that one will make my menu not be, it cause my menu to be altered, so I can check it.
Now, let's check back my front of my site and refresh and see how it looks like. Okay! I have them, I have overview, our blog, privacy, about us, this, that, and so on. So there are some pages that I want to be here that are not here and, like, contact us.
Okay! And then there are some pages here I want to be a submenu. A submenu in the sense that there will be a a menu here and will be drawdown menu. That is what we mean by submenu. So what I have to do is to go back to menu structure, and then arrange my menu in order.
Now, I have overview. Then the next thing I move here from overview is I move up how I drag the menu, holding down my left-hand side, the left-hand side of my mouse and dragging it up about us for the menu arrangement. Okay! See, we have overview, about us, our blog.
Okay! So I want to put our services below. So I drag our services down here, and I put it here. Next one, I use how we work, I put it over here.
And, then the next one, be trained, blog, domain purchase, and put them over here. Now I want to add web hosting and then social-media business. There's something is missing here. What is that that's supposed to be missing? Contact us.
Now let me add contact us and click add menu. So any page that is not in the menu structure, then you select the page here and click add to menu. It's automatically added. So I have contact us here. Okay!
So I'm going to add contact us which is only here. Now let me save this work and then look how my work will look like. Web looking, they are not alright. So this is why you need to create submenu. In creating submenu, some menu like web hosting, which is services, and the domain purchasing, social-media promotions, come down as a submenu to our services. Okay! So and then let's look take care of it now.
Then we go down. Look at how to create submenu. Now, social media, you drag it and bring it under, See the way, I put it and then we have our hosting, we have domain purchasing. Okay!
So let save and see what we happen next on our front end. Oh, you notice it now, fantastic! So we have about us, our service. You notice here, they have created sub menus and look at how they are; how we work, be trained, our blog, privacy, contact us. Okay! We have them, and so on. So we have finally arranged our menu.
Okay! So if you have more pages that you want to add on, you can create the page on your on your page, creating, dashboard. Okay! Then come back to the menu and then add the page over here. Decide whether the page will be a submenu or main menu. That's exactly what you have just done now.
We have finish with menu. Let's talk about post and, okay, let's talk about post. The next line is the post now, area of the post.
And for better view, we don't find it necessary to put post on the primary menu site. Okay! It's not proper to put your post on there. Right side, we have many posts here. We have 4 kinds of post here, and you want to view all the post, you can click here- See they are about 4. And, you can add them here if you want. Let's take an example, you can add them if you want.
So there are different types of website added. While this is a post, while this is a page. You can change the name, to put it to, that's the navigation label. The navigation label, you can change to types of website or let's say web type types, okay! For example, we can also do the same thing in the area of the main like social-media business promotion.
You can take it as a site promotion. So you can change the menu title in the page, in the area of the page as well as the area of the post. Okay! So I change it. Let me go back and see how it looks like at the front end.
Let's refresh the front end! So you still have web types here. And I look at here- we have site promotion here changes occur. So it's not advisable to put a post on the menu.
Okay! All posts should be on the area of our blog. And you build your site at a state whereby once someone click the blog, your blog, I think the person will be able to have full access to your post.
Okay! So we don't do that. What we'll be taking this place; we have to remove it from this place. How do we remove it? In the same manner, you can use to remove, a page. Click the drop link down here. And you click remove. It has gone up. You can use the same way to remove a page if you don't want the page to be. Okay! So that is about post.
This one, we'll talk about the custom link and look at the custom link. And then what is custom links means? Is it customized link? You can customize a link and put on your primary menu or on any of your menu side. Okay!
So here, I want to put a spaweb. You know, spaweb is in charge of spedatas website design. So their link just, https://www.sw.spedatas.com. So the link text is what you put here, and you can put anything. You can put “parent company” Okay! And then I will click. I'm adding it now.
Okay! So I can add as many. I can also put SpEDATAS, https. Okay! SpEDATAS, I can also add – now check if it is added, so I can decide to push it here. Oh, this parent company, let me change to spaweb. Okay!
Now it's done. And then do you have any other company? Yes. We have.
What about, yes DLS? Okay! You can say, you can say, type anything .com and put here DLS. Okay!
You can come here, to change, put the link properly. Okay! This is the wrong one, you cannot put the prop link properly. Okay! There you have it.
You can save it. So we have it here. See the way it looks like so for me, privacy has to come over here, under about us. Okay! So I can be able to push Spedatas, and make this sub web, sub-menu under Spedatas. Okay! So what do I do? Just go over here and privacy have to move it under about us. Okay!
Now contact us, I need to bring it down. Remember how I'm moving this thing. I'm holding the left-hand side of my mouse down and then click and drag. Okay! Spaweb, DLS under Spedatas, Spaweb under, have them.
Then I'll save my work, to look how the front-end is. if it's not normal, I will do more adjustment. That’s exactly what I want. So I have DLS, Spaweb under. I can add most sub menu here. Okay! So, that is it.
Now about custom link, now, I want to speak briefly about category.
Video Speech to Text (transcribed)
Okay! Category! You can add category under post, and then if you like, it is not much necessary because on your widget, right-hand side of your site, there's a link for categories there or you may decide to add some.
So let's check about category here. And remember, if you want to create a post, let's assume you want to add a post here, for example, remember if you are, since we having been adding post, we add our category here, and then every category added here, we are not be able to edit them. Okay! So we are not going to use these categories.
We are going to create a category according to the post that we have. Okay! So now how do we do that? I'll just go back on the post label. I have all posts; add new, categories and tags.
So I click categories now. So this is the categories that we have. So I don’t want to have them, I want to do away with them. I'm not using them. So I have selected all, delete all, and I have delete all.
Now I still need to create another category. I create a category for – known as domain name. Domain, and add new category. It is here, we have School, we add, this is added. Ah…company.
Then, I’ve school, domain, company. Now let me go back on all my post now, because since I've deleted this category, I need to assign new categories on my post. What is the essence of category? If I, I click a particular, if I create a post, I will add the categories to that post. And if I have created like party post that concerns schools, I will choose school as category for those party posts so that whenever somebody click school, all the posts related to school will open. So that's the essence of category.
Now you see, because I have deleted, the default category then, so I deleted those category, every category now return to uncategorized, uncategorized, uncategorized. So what do I do now? I have to change them.
This one is for website, okay, and business. So it's for company. What I do is that I, I have post about 4 posts. Okay! Now I want to assign categories on the on the quick edit.
Not opening the pages again. So I have to click quick edit here, and then I'll move the uncategorized and its title “how website will promote your business”. Let's think about company. I'll categorize this under company. Okay!
So what do I do? I'll say update. Then this one, quick edit. “The importance of website to a company”. I will do it as a company.
You can choose multiple categories. Okay! And then add this…say ‘edit.’ The importance of website to school, quick edit, scroll.
So different types of websites, you can categorize it under domain. Okay! Let's go back to how website will promote your school. We can do we can give you to company, school, and domain. There are multiple categories.
So each of these category, like, this particular post will appear. Okay! Now let's go back on our menu dashboard and refresh it, and then someone can make choice of our, Okay! Let's look back on our category and then see actually what we have there. So we have them there.
Domain, School, company. Okay. So I can decide to use all of them. Okay! And then add to menu.
So I have them already. Now they are category. We have under blog. Now when you click the blog, every post will appear, but not in one page, then you can navigate. So in order to save, make yourself more friendly, you can move the category under the blog.
Each of the category under the blog. So, I've added them there, then saved. Let's look at the front-end and see how it will appear. See, you have our blog. See, you have them domain. So if you click domain, now it's only the post that have domain in their category would appear. Okay! So remember, we'll have look at the post here. Yeah, Okay!
Remember, then if you click, school, look about, those that have school in its domain, okay will appear. So that is how, That is how it works. So you go back and then check your work, what you have done so far.
So this is it. And we have done our pages, done about our posts, done about our custom links. We have also done about categories. And let's look how our work look like. Go back to overview, and then you have your menu perfectly arrange in this format.
I want to tell you that, you can get plugins to beautify how your menu, your blog post will appear on your site. And what will you do to get them? Just search. Thank you very much. See you on the next class.
We will talk about Widget creation and adjustment. Bye!
Video transcribed Speech
Hello! You are welcome for today's edition, and our topic today is adding widgets. And I remember in the text class, it was made known to you that we have two kinds of widgets in WordPress. That will have block-widget, which will come found in recent WordPress version, and we'll have the classic-widgets, and that's have been existing in old WordPress version. And then when you install WordPress, today for site building, you have the block widget, which is the current one.
But you have option to turn into classic-widgets. Why? For tutorial purposes, I prefer the classic-widget because it is more friendly, though it has lesser features, but to me, I like that. So let's just move on now.
Now go to appearance and you'll find your widget button and click over it. Okay right now we have our widget here, and we have another widget, we have different places for widget. We have main sidebar. Okay, and then go down, we have showcase sidebar. We have footer area-1 sidebar, footer area-2, and footer area-3 sidebar.
So all this sidebar, you can add, widget on each of them depending on how you are building your site. Okay! So now let's look at the front end of our site and see how it looks like. Okay! We have our front end, and let's open a blog, probably domain.
So if you scroll down, you can have a widget. The only widget we have here is ‘Search’. The search box, which can enable your visitors to search keywords on your website. Okay! So we can add other widgets here and then let's go, we are on the blog.
Okay! Right now on the blog, so what do we do now? We can decide to add anything. I click and then I have to scroll down, browse all the widgets. I'm taking over… let me look for latest post, widget or recent group. Okay! I choose latest post.
Okay! I have it here. Latest post, okay, latest post here. Let me remove some of the… there's a duplicate here. Let me remove some. So I have one... Now I can do update to see how it appears. See how it has cleared. We have those posts here.
But now we are missing something. What is that? Latest post is missing here. So we can decide to add it, and to add it, okay, can decide, let's go for… so we can have a title widget group.
And you say, let's put it ‘Recent Posts’. Let's check back here and see how it shows. So you have it here –Recent Posts, Okay! And this is how it is.
Alright! We have done something on the block-widgets, and we have something like this on our front end. Now I want us to use classic-widgets to see how, the class-widget appearance will look like. So we have go down to our plugin dashboard to upload the plugin that we downloaded at the beginning of the day.
Choose the plugin, classic widget, install the plugin, and then let's activate our classic-widget plugin, okay, it’s activated now.
So we have our classic widgets here. Look about it, then let's refresh our widgets dashboard page and see how this would look like. So we have our classic-widgets now, and known as widget group.
See how it looks like. I want to remove them or I don't want to use them. I want to put them in classic-widget to see how they will look like. The even the search button, I want to remove it. So I have it here. Now let me look for ‘search’ here. I have a search button. Where do I want to put it? I say put it on the main sidebar (menu), oya “Add widget”. If I want it to be on the “Showcase sidebar”, I will click here, I will say ‘Add’, so I want it to be here, I will click, and say add…
Now the next one I want to put is recent post. It is already there highlighted, and I will say click…so I have it here. Now in my recent I can decide to…to set my recent how many number of posts to show? Let me say “I want 3 to show instead of 4, display post date, and then save. Okay! Now let's check back how the work will look like on our front-end page. So you see how recent posts and then dates and which the post were created. So you have them.
Well, I can type my own, say “Recent Post”, which will be more better for me. I want to give my own title to be a little different. My own search. Save. Save. Look at how the previous one look like. So let me add my own and see the difference then. So this is my search here, and this is my recent post, okay! I can decide to remove the date.
So there are other things that you can do on this place. For example, you want to add image. Okay! On your sidebar, you can add image. Okay! You have galleries. Let me add category, category on the side. Okay!
Let me add Archive. This is archive, we have added archive.
What next again? Tag, I want to add tag, you can add tag. I want to add a place of login, I want to add video, login place. Okay! My ‘Meta’, I'll add my tag and then my meta. I want to add a login place on my site, on my widget, and then I'll add it. Then I can decide to arrange the recent post. Okay, my recent post is arranged.
Do I have any image to put there? Let's put one image there and add it on the widget, we have it…Parent company. Let’s add the company site down here, we add ‘https….” That’s the parent company. We save it.
Then category, display as dropdown. Okay! And then I like it that way. I put category. Okay!
Archive, display and count them, archive.
And then tag, show tag count
Login and register place, you I have them.
Then I can decide to arrange them the way they're supposed to be. For me, I prefer to put login ahead of recent, and image to be before cloud, category, archive, image, tag. That is my choice. So you can also make your own choice by the way you arrange them. Okay! Finally and then let me let me refresh.
Let's take a refresh on the site. The front page, I will have it. So this is now: Login and register place, here is where you will log out, site admin, and so on.
Recently post, category. Okay! You can select, and archive, you can select. September, but we have 2 pictures, August, we have 1 picture. Okay! So that is it.
Now, here we login here, trying to view them. Let's take another browser.
Okay! We paste it in another browser. Look how it appears. So we have you see login and register, place. Register, login, another interest, we have recent post. We have our 3 categories we can select. Okay! Select company and then once select any category here, automatically to refresh the front end page refresh and bring out that particular category.
So it shows now, the category on company. Okay! So that is it, that’s how WordPress work. Okay!
So we have it and so on. Then let's go back to our back end. So this is the classic-widget, and you can, do it the way you want. You can on the footer footer-1, you can add and you drag if you want. This is what will call by drag. Okay! There's another one
Thank you very much for learning. I'd like to meet you on the next class, which is content development and management. Bye!
Video Speech Transcribed
You are welcome for today's class. I want to talk about content development and management. And from the text were you have read, I know, you have acquired a little knowledge about, concerning content development, what it is, and content management. Now I want to talk briefly about content editing tools.
WordPress has content editing tools. Like, you know, when we installed our first plugin, we learned how to change from the default editing tools to classic editing tools by installing plugin named tiny MCE Advanced tool. Okay! So let's look about, the tools here, and you have known how we dragged most of these tools to this place when configure our, class editing tools known as tiny MCE advanced tool. So I will move over to class editor, you know how to drag them.
Now using these tools, you just need, a little knowledge of Microsoft Word editing tools. Okay! And what are those tools? We have tools like bold, italics and then we have, left-indented, centered, right, and justify which we have here that can make your text beautiful. So only just, what to do is to text them the various ways which you can use them. Okay! Now, that is about editing.
Now we talk about development, content development. You know what you should do when you are developing content. What actually will really help you is when you set up your menu. For example, I set up my menu ‘about us’. So I know that whatever I'm going to develop as a content is going to contain, things that will say about the website, about the company, and the services. So I just made example of this text, and then we are going to edit this text, number 1. Then 2, we are going to manage it as in in the area of, inbound link and as well at bound links. That’s exactly what we are going to do. So you look at these 2 that you have seen it. And over here, if I'm going to edit it now, I, first of all, highlight the tools, sorry the text. Okay! After highlighting, I justify them. And then they are not justified. I can decide to change the font size, the font type I want to use, we decide to use Georgia, for example, okay. And then I may also decide to increase the font size, the font size of the font, and then decide to use 12, Okay, just to increase it and increase.
I will also decide to change the color. If I want to change the color, the color of the text can decide to change the color of the text, if I want. I can still say “Control-Z, Undo, okay, just like a normally word editing.
Okay. So I can decide to bold the ‘about us’ if I want, if I don’t want I leave it. For me, I normally leave it, since the bar is holding ‘about us’ there is no need.
So, what do I do now? I can start to change the color of the text, okay. Depends on what I want to do. I can highlight them. Come over here and then, choose any color that I want, let's say ‘green’. I choose green, and then I have the color this way. Okay! So that is it about editing. You can use your hand to learn how to edit this, okay.
To add image on your page, there are various ways you can add image on your page. And then one of the ways is which we have learned about using the feature page. Okay! We have learned about it and which you know, the use of feature page as when you set feature image, okay. And we have learned about that. Then that is one of the ways.
Then another way you can add, you can add media here, when you come across here, when you decide to add an image over this place by clicking here, then, select the image. You can add image that is in your gallery. Okay!
You can add audio, you can add video, okay. You can insert ‘URL’ a web link, probably, either picture link or you can insert, YouTube link over this place. So depends on what you want to do. Okay!
Now after that, you can you expected to give a text message for your image. Every text that you put here, is what Google search engine or Bing search engine will use to identify your image. So it's always good for you to put a text here. Okay! So that when somebody search a keyword related to what you put here and then, it can be found in Google search engine image. Okay! For example, I will put here “design web.
Okay! So I will just, insert the image, okay, over this place. Now, I can decide how want to manage the image. Clicking on top of the image, I can decide to center or do whatever, even to edit the image. I can decide to edit this image that when somebody click on it just like this, I'll put the link on it.
You watch over here, you see there's Link To, there's no link. So I can start to link the image, and I use custom, you are clicking custom you have, I'll put whatever I want to, so that when you click the image on the front page, then it would take you to that particular link, which I put.
I have added now, I can say, “www.spedatas.com.ng” I would say “update’, which is done, okay.
So another thing way to insert image on here is that, you can go to Google search and then get any link of an image, which is not which is normally called image link. Okay! And when you get such image link, you can come down here, here written “Insert/edit image” and click on it. So when you click on it, what you need to do just insert the link of image over here.
And when you insert the link of image here, you click ‘okay’. So wherever your cursor is - is blinking, that is where the image will appear. Assuming your cursor is done at the middle of this place blinking, so when you click here and then insert the image and say, okay. Then the image will appear here. So that is how it works. But take note that this is only for image, is not for video. Okay!
But if your cursor is here, you want to, add video on this page over this place. So you use add media and then insert the video link if you have it here beside the video link here. You now have the video link and then the video link is on your system. I mean, on your lappy or laptop. You can now upload it to this place.
Okay. So that is how to do it. Alright. In this place, I want to talk about the category of hyperlinks. Okay!
Video: Translate to Text
Alright! In this place, I want to talk about the category of hyperlinks. Okay! So, when we talk about hyperlink, we talk about a text image or a group of texts that contain a web link, such back, outbound, or inbound links. So, we want to talk about how to embed the links on the content of a website. OK! So, here we have back links, and we give example; and, this is a link of our contact us in our local page. We have it like this:
So, we have outbound links. Ok! We give example; and this is example of outbound link. The same thing with back links. Okay. So, we are going to separate two of them in our learning. Now we have about inbound links. Okay and this example of our inbound links. Okay!
So, now let's go to the, a particular web page, page content, and this about us page. In this about us page, we have learnt how this content were been developed. Now, now let's read this statement; we have “to reach us, contact us here, or learn more on the topic; the importance of website for business growth, visit Spaweb. Okay!
So, we are going to have two types of, hyperlinks to provide this particular statement from here to here. And then, so now, you want to make your site navigation friendly, and somebody can move for a particular page to another page. Ok! And then you put backlinks where it is necessary. OK! So, here, you see to reach us, contact us here. It means they contact us back, hyperlinks or web link have to put in this place. So, what do you do? You select it. And when you select or highlight the text, then you look at it tool, they call insert/edit link. Okay! You click on the tool.
Then when you click on the tool, don't just paste your URL here directly. If you paste your URL here, this is our URL here, contact us here, I copy it. Then, if you paste it here without editing it, when someone click on it, if you close this present page, okay, and then, access it for example, I put it here. And then I say, okay. I close it now. And then, if I say ‘update,’ update it. So, I have it here. Contact us, okay!
So, if I click this place based on the way I added the attachment, this particular ‘about us’ space will close. So, I don't want it to be that way, I want my visitor, okay, to have many pages of my site open.
Then, if you click it here now, see what happened, I see it open contact us page. Okay. But for me, I don't think it is necessary. I don't want it that way. So, what I want is that when I click it, this particular page about us will still remain, why the contact page will open in a new tab. So, this is why I have to configure it here. It has been probably configure, when I am adding the backlinks. Okay. So, I'll go back now to edit it. I say ‘edit’ I will click, link options. So, I will check this place “Open link in a new tab,” just click it. Okay! And I say up, I update it, then update here again. Go back here, refresh.-this about us page, then click on it! Have you seen? About us page link and then contact us page can now open. Okay!
So, this is one of the ways to make your site keep your visitor. Don't allow them to be closing any page they want. And make sure that, when they open a page, the page is there for them. So, that it can be easy for them, in order to help them, preserve their data. Okay!
Go through your content as you are writing your content or developing your content.
Now, you check about those texts that connect to other pages of your site. Okay! Then you backlink it on them, so, that visitors’ can easily click from one web page to another web page. Okay!
Now I want to talk about something else, what that I want to talk about outbound links. Okay! Now, from the text in our web page, you know, in our LMS, we discover that outbound link is when the link of your website, is being used by another website, embedded in another website. Sometimes you are not going to be the one to link them. But if you have a very good web page, especially that of post, somebody who is looking for an article that has such post may take your web page, sorry, may take your web link and then add as a reference on his or her website. Okay!
Now, let's take example; on what I'm trying to say here. Now, we have this, this is a post “different types of website”. Okay!
Now, this is the link of this website. This website if you write the article very well, if you write the article very well, sorry if the content of this article is very fine, somebody may found it on a search engine, okay. And then take it and embed in his own website. Okay!
So, when somebody did something like that, and then this particular web link can become what you call outbound link. Okay! So, always develop your content, let It have a proper information where it will be okay for people to read and learn something. So that people can easily copy your web link and add in their own. By doing so, they are promoting your website on their own site, okay.
Now let me talk about inbound links. Okay! Inbound link is when you take a content, sorry; when you take a web link of another website and then backlink them in your own site. Just for example, here, we have, to reach us, contact us here, or learn more on the topic, the importance of website for business growth, visit Spaweb. Okay! So, we are promoting the website Spaweb in this place. So, what do we do now?
We copy the web link of the Spaweb, and then, add it on our web, okay. So, when doing it, we should be careful and then say this is the Spaweb. You have to do it the same way you did to, the backlink. Click open, option, then add. And make sure you see “open link in a new tab”, okay. So, that your visitor will not go out of your site, then you click, okay. And then update it.
So, we have it here. The reason why we make sure that it goes into another tab is that; your visitor will not leave your site. Okay! So, when you click it and then it opens, okay, here. Remember that we don't have internet here, we are working with localhost, so, it's open in this place. Okay! So, that is it.
I want to talk about visibility…of web page. Remember that we are on the web page about us. So, talk about the visibility editing aspect of it. Okay! Now, when you click the editing tool-that you have; public, password protected, private. Okay!
Now on the public setting, we say the web page will be on the back-end page list as well display on the front-end for every visitor to see, okay. So here, this web page about us is on the public so that is why every visitor will be able to see it, okay.
Now we talk about the password protected side of the web page. Now I say the web page will be on the back-end page list as well display on the front-end or require password to view the content. Okay!
Now let's set it that form and see what will happen. Now initially we are on the public, so let's choose password protected, so you can put your password, I put my password “123456”. And I click okay. And then say update. Let's check it! We have, we choose password protected, okay.
Let's check it and see how it looks like, okay. about us, this about us page.
Okay, look at it. Now you see it is protected. “Protected: About us. The content is password protected. To view it please enter your password below:” Okay!
So, this is where you want a particular set of people to view the content of your page. So, you can password that page online and then share the password to those you expected to have access to the content of that page. Okay. So, if you put the password now 123456 and then enter…And the page will open, see how the page open, okay. So, that is about it.
Now the other one is, what we title as ‘private’. Okay! So, we say in private, the web page will be on the back-end page list, but will not be displayed on the front-end. So, if you select the private, and say okay, and say okay, update. So, about us shows private. And the reason why we were, I can be able to view the pages because I login, okay.
Now let me take another page, another web browser, where I did not login, okay. Now, this is localhost here I have entered the web address, this is the home page to view us. Now let's click about us, and looking if the page will show, it says say page not found and then not found. Why, because it is private. Okay!
So, if you want to put it back, let's go back. And then on the page “about us”, look at about us page, let's go back, and… and reset it on, set the visibility, remove from the private back to public. Click and update. Then go back to this browser where no login, and let me click about us now. So, it has shown, okay.
So, when you go for page visibility or web page visibility, you have the public; you have the password protected; You have the private. So, there are three types that you have over there. Okay! Thank you very much for this class.
