Description

Recall sitting in your office shivering from cold drafts, or fanning yourself from the heat? Building envelope design is the cause. A building envelope is the structural barrier between the interior and exterior of a building. It is responsible for maintaining climate control within the interior of a building. Climate control refers to cooling and heating a building. The building envelope also keeps the interior free from moisture, sound, and light. The building envelope structure includes Roof, Walls, Foundation, Doors and Windows.

The Course has total 7 section which contains couple of lectures that provides immersive learning of making the Building Envelope that Compliance Green Building Mechanism. The section are as follows.

Section 1 : The section consists a lecture that provides you a overview of full course.

Section 2 : This section is about Orientation of the building. This consists 1 lecture that provides learnings on Orientation strategy, critical missteps in building envelope design, guidelines for building envelope design, Moisture management etc.

Section 3 : This section is about Fenestration. The section consists of 2 lecture that provides learnings on basic of fenestration, U - Factors, Direct & Indirect Solar radiation, Solar heat gain coefficient, Glazing etc.

Section 4 : This section has total three lecture that provide learnings on different aspects which are as follows.                                Lecture 1 : This lecture is about Daylighting that provides learning on how to achieve efficient daylighting in building.                                 Lecture 2 : This lecture is about Skylights/Roof lights that provides learnings on basic of skylights as well as U-Factor for skylights and SHGC requirement as per Building Conservation Code.                                                                                                                         Lecture 3 : This lecture is about Basic understanding of Cool roof.

Section 5 : This section has 1 lecture that provides learning on Basics Overhangs & Insulation. The lecture gives the learnings on desirable values for insulation in Opaque walls as well as Vertical fenestration & Overhangs as Building compliance code with Mathematical means.

Section 6 : This section consists 1 lecture on Air leakage that provides understandings on Basics of air leakage (Infiltration) as well as Building envelope sealing.

Section 7 : This section has 1 lecture that provides learnings on Guidelines for HVAC system that are energy efficient for desired Building Envelope.

Course is helpful to Engineers, Consultants, Architects and Energy managers who wish to adopt Energy efficient design of building.
