Building 3D Sets in Moho Pro

This video will introduce you to the importance of sketching and laying out scenes.

We begin the journey in Moho. First, we will create a document and set it up properly. Then we will import a sketch to use as a reference for building the 3D set.

Before laying out a 3D set, we're going to need some pieces to play with first. In this video we will draw out a 2D tree together so we can take it to the 3D stage.

Like the tree, the rocks will be used to help build up our set. These can be made using a combination of the Draw Shape and Add Point tools.

With a tree for the template and rocks in place, we can finish up the remaining layers by adding a sky, ground, and background elements.

When working with 3D Layers, enabling Depth Sort is recommended for a few reasons. This lecture details those reasons as well as shows how to make the conversion.

In this exercise we will push the floor into 3D space to help set up the shot.

In this lecture we will arrange the hills and mountains as well as set up the sky to be immune to camera movements.

We will continue building the set by arranging the 3D rocks, tree and sun.

In this lecture we will take some time to add more branches to the tree to help bolster its 3D presence.

In this lecture we learn one way to quickly create seamless textures for 3D objects. This involves using an iPad Pro and Procreate, but can be achieved in other software that has symmetry guides enabled.

Once you bring over images from the iPad Pro, you may find the file sizes to be quite large. This video will show you how to handle such textures.

We will now take those plain 3D objects and jazz them up with some textures.

By reusing already made assets, we can bolster the scene further by adding more trees and rocks.

Here we will use a Cycle to create a steady bobbing motion for the lava.

By taking advantage of Inflate, we can convert ovals to spheres and use them to help pump up our lava.

Sometimes it's best to do work outside of Moho rather than doing it internally. This video showcases one way using the Image Stream method.

By using a series of still images and a Switch, we will establish our character and then get the basic motion of his bouncing down.

In this lecture we will finish up animating the character by changing his phases and polishing.

Since we have a 3D environment, we can take advantage of the camera to bring the audience in.

Even little touches, like vector clouds, can help with the overall atmosphere of the project.

Here we will look at how to use blend modes to change colors and blur layers to help create depth.
