This course is intended for those of you who are passionate about sports and hockey and want to learn the basics of hockey analytics and dashboard design with Power BI. If you really enjoy watching hockey, but have been unsure as to how you get started with hockey analytics and creating dashboards for your personal or professional projects, then this course is for you!
The goals of the course are to introduce you to hockey analytics, help you design your first Microsoft Power BI dashboard, provide an overview of key hockey statistics at the team and player level, show you how you can manually and programmatically access hockey data, and use team and player performance hockey data to create your first hockey dashboard.
Through several lectures, we'll teach you the basics of Microsoft Power BI, raw and calculated hockey statistics for player and team performance, the process to design and create a team performance dashboard in Power BI, and give you tips and tricks for evolving your first hockey analytics project into a professional project. By the end of the course, you'll have created your very own Team Performance dashboard and will be ready to tackle other hockey analytics projects (such as coaching dashboard, team and player tracking dashboards, fantasy hockey dashboards, and so on).
