In this fun and easy lesson, you'll learn how to build your own Healthy Meal Bot using PictoBlox and the ChatGPT extension. Your chatbot will be friendly, helpful, and smart—it will share cool tips about healthy foods like fruits, veggies, water, and balanced meals. But don’t worry, it won’t give medicine or diet plans, because it's designed to be safe and ethical! You’ll get to code using colorful blocks, ask your bot questions, and see how it replies like a real health buddy!
In this lecture, kids will develop the logic step-by-step for designing their own ethical HealthBot using PictoBlox and the ChatGPT extension. By analyzing a pre-developed demo, they will understand how to structure safe conversations that provide healthy meal tips while avoiding any medical or diet advice.
In this lecture, students will implement a kind, ethical welcome message for the Health Bot using PictoBlox, based on the logic developed in the previous session. The message will promote happiness, well-being, and ethical communication for the users.
The objective of this lesson is to guide students in implementing responsible and safety-conscious conversational logic for the HealthBuddy Bot. In this lesson, students will explore how to test their health bot by asking it various questions and prompts. They will learn how to check if the bot gives helpful and kind answers, and how to spot areas where it can be better. Testing helps make sure the bot is friendly, smart, and ready to help others!

In this module, students will develop the EcoBuddy Bot by breaking down its behavior into clear, logical steps. By analyzing how the chatbot responds to different types of questions—such as offering eco-friendly tips, handling serious topics, and ensuring user safety—students will strengthen their logical thinking and problem-solving skills. They will learn to sequence chatbot responses based on input, use condition-based logic (if-else structures), and design appropriate message flows. This step-by-step development approach helps students understand how ethical and purposeful chatbot interactions are built, enhancing both their coding logic and environmental awareness.
In this module, students will implement the logic developed in the first step by programming a friendly and ethical welcome message for EcoBuddy Bot. The bot will greet users with a warm, engaging introduction such as: “Hi! I’m EcoBuddy Bot! I’ll help you care for Earth with fun tips! Ask about recycling, energy saving, nature, or animals! (Always check with your parents!)” This message sets a positive tone, clearly defines the bot’s purpose, and includes a reminder about online safety. Students will also design an appropriate background or visual theme that reflects the bot’s environmental focus—using symbols like trees, leaves, water, or animals to visually reinforce the eco-friendly message. This activity encourages ethical design thinking and helps students create an inviting, purposeful user experience.
In this module, students will implement the logic developed in Step 2 by adding ethical constraints to EcoBuddy Bot’s responses. The bot will be programmed to recognize and appropriately respond to questions that fall outside its intended purpose. For example:
If a user tries to share or ask for personal information, the bot will respond with:
"I can't share or collect personal info. Stay safe online! "
If a question involves a serious or sensitive topic, the bot will reply with:
" That's a grown-up topic. Please talk to a parent, teacher, or doctor. "
These constraints ensure that EcoBuddy Bot respects digital safety guidelines and sets clear boundaries on what it can and cannot discuss. Through this step, students learn how to embed ethical behavior into chatbot design using conditional logic (e.g., if...then statements), helping them understand responsible AI development.
In this final module, students will test the EcoBuddy Bot to ensure it works as an ethical and eco-friendly assistant. They will interact with the bot by asking a variety of questions—some related to environmental topics and others that test its ethical boundaries. The goal is to verify that:
The bot responds accurately to eco-related questions with tips about recycling, saving water, energy, and caring for nature
It correctly blocks any attempts to share or request personal information with a clear safety message
It redirects sensitive or unrelated topics to a trusted adult
It ends the conversation on a positive note, encouraging continued care for the planet
This hands-on testing helps students evaluate their logic, refine chatbot behavior, and understand the importance of building responsible AI systems that are both helpful and safe for users.
