Also, if the client has a smart speaker, then make sure to update the accompanying app with the new smart thermostat. Here is how I connected my Nest thermostats in the O'Driscoll household to the Home App, which in turn enables voice control of my smart thermostats, awesome :-)

And here is another short video on how I went about adding two Nest smart thermostats to the Alexa environment. On this occasion, there was an extra step involved (merging my Nest and Google accounts). Once this was done through a series of authentications and prompts, the skill was enabled and my Nest thermostats became controllable using Alexa commands. Enjoy this short video lesson:
