Construction projects rarely suffer from a shortage of information. They suffer because contract requirements, events, change, risk, payment, correspondence and actions are often managed in separate places with no single commercial view. This course shows you how to turn that fragmented information into a practical contractor-side commercial control system from the beginning of a project.
Using one evolving fictional project, Project Alpha, you will build the logic of the system step by step. You will establish the commercial starting position, convert contract requirements into live controls, capture commercial events early, connect events to notices, evidence, change and risk, follow value from earned to paid, link correspondence to deadlines and actions, and bring the key information together for weekly management decisions.
This is a practical short course. It is not a clause-dump, a legal-advice course, or software training. The focus is professional commercial thinking: what needs to be visible, what document controls the issue, what evidence is needed, what the time/cost/cash effect may be, who owns the next action, and what management needs to decide.
The course includes an original Integrated Commercial Control Workbook, a Project Alpha case pack, contract-review and event-control tools, a value-to-cash lens, correspondence and action controls, a weekly commercial review guide, and a first-30-days implementation plan. The workbook and examples use fictional data and are designed to be adapted to your own organisation, contract and governing law.
By the end of the course, you will be able to build a connected commercial control routine that moves from project records to commercial decisions rather than relying on disconnected registers and late reactions.
Important: the executed contract, project procedures and governing law always control real project decisions. This course provides professional education and practical workflow guidance, not legal advice.
AI-assisted tools were used in parts of the production workflow, including visual/video production and drafting support. The course structure, commercial judgments, fictional examples, resources and final content were instructor-led and human-reviewed.
