Hi, there! I am Luisa and I live in Florida with my husband and my son, lucky to enjoy the palm trees in the wind and breathtaking sunsets.
My formal education started with a B.A. in Communications, and later a Professional Photography Certification from the New York Institute of Photography. More recently, I received a Meditation Course certificate from UCF. I also worked as an ELS teacher and translator for many years.
As a Brazilian-American, my tendency is to intertwine both cultures in everything I do. Watching my Navy Dad sail the world with his Hasselblad, I have learned to appreciate Photography since about age eight, when he gave me a small Olympus 35mm camera. I have been fortunate to have traveled to many places myself too. I absolutely enjoy visiting other towns and countries and learning about their cultures. Also a poetry author, I find that Poetry and Photography blend very well in my image-making.
But, until now, there was a piece of the puzzle missing. Having worked as an instructor for many years, and I was missing the "classroom" life. Therefore I developed a Mindful Photography course, which I teach both online and in-person.
Teaching is probably when I learn the most. Every interaction with every student is a two-way road of knowledge and discovery. That is the main reason I decided to develop this course. Hoping to pass it forward, sharing what I have learned to others.
Thus I can integrate all my passions in one path, forming my own personal fulfillment framework: Photography, Mindfulness, Teaching and Writing.
And that's professional paradise to me.
