What is an Enrolled Agent?
IRS Definition of Enrolled Agent: An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by either passing a three-part comprehensive IRS test covering individual and business tax returns, or through experience as a former IRS employee. I received my credentials through the IRS. In the eyes of the IRS, I am on the same lines as a CPA, Tax Attorney where I can represent clients in front of the IRS but what sets me apart is I am strictly educated in taxes.
***A CPA is regulated on the state level and the EA is regulated on the federal level***
