“The good news — and it is largely good news — is that everyone has a chance to stand out. Everyone has a chance to learn, improve, and build up their skills. Everyone has a chance to be a brand worthy of remark.” Tom Peters
In order to visualize yourself in a new job, promotion, or project, you have to know and agree to your OWN value proposition in the workforce. The journey in our career is reflecting on our accomplishments, learning where and when we do our BEST work, and sharing that with our target audience to create our value proposition.
“All things being equal, people will do business with, and refer business to, those people they know, like and trust.” - Bob Burg
Trust equity is something that we build over time with people at work and in our personal life. We can all relate to the currency of trust. How do you feel when you work with someone you trust? What is the value of your trustworthy co-worker or boss or friend? How did they gain your trust? How do you feel when you work with someone who doesn't trust you?
Rather than start with cold calling and e-mailing… go to your trust equity network first. Use your trust equity network to ask for advice. People in your trust equity network will carve out time to share ideas. They can be a bridge from where you are now to possibilities you may not yet see in your future work.
“If life gives you lemons, don't settle for simply making lemonade – make a glorious scene at a lemonade stand.” Elizabeth Gilbert
Applying for work is all about taking action on posted positions AND taking action to find work in the "hidden job market". According to some estimates, the hidden job market accounts for up to 80% of hiring.
So, how can we take strategic and focused action in the hidden job market? Tips include being strategic about how and when you network, join a professional networking group locally to build connections, contact target employers directly (and in various ways), attend conferences, and if you like your current employer - make sure to explore and expand connections within your current employer.
The key here is to bridge your market offering directly into the market through strategic action. Love what you have to offer, share what you can offer, and repeat.

Describe personal brand, market offering, and pitch in the job market
Apply networking strategies with clarity and confidence
Promote skills and expertise to stand out in the hidden job market
Launch the "Take Action 100 challenge" with strategic focus
You are at a networking event, corporate outing, workshop, dog park, or the playground. You meet someone new ... and they say "What do you do"? You panic.
Networking is key to standing out in the 'now' economy ... and essential to finding our next promotion, project, or new job. Whether you are an extrovert or introvert, networking can seem like an scary world of cold calls and uncomfortable discussions. The reality is that networking is KEY because 80% of jobs are filled in the hidden job market.
Get clear and confident in any scenario where you are asked “What do you do?”.
And ... It’s not just what you say … it’s how you say it. What is your marketing pitch? The pitch isn’t a presentation. Its all about how you present yourself in daily work & life. How do you present yourself? Are you confident or nervous? Are you looking for approval or are you grounded and proud of your message? We get to decide how we present our market offering or our expertise to others. Some of us don’t want to be flashy and others are natural introverts. Others are extroverts who need a grounded message. Doesn’t matter. We can be authentic AND be clear what we offer in the market. We can be personable in daily conversation and be confident in our messaging. It’s your choice.
In this course, you will receive practical networking tips that you can use immediately that will help you take action in work & life with confidence and clarity.

A Few Testimonials:
"Your advice to look at what we've already done, and identify when and where and by what that spark of interest and energy ignited, and to build on that recognition instead of focusing forward into that fog--well, for me it's a whole new way of thinking." Wendy
"I participated in Kara's powerful e-course, “How to Discover, Invent, and Launch your Ideal Work & Life" ... and was thrilled with the content and online delivery.
