
My name is Giovanni Gargini, and I play drums, piano, sing, and teach body percussion and Feldenkrais Method®.
In this course we’ll learn the foundations of body percussion, focusing on body sounds & technique, music theory, and counting systems.
We go deep into understanding what is a groove, and learn how to feel and internalize it.
Then we explore a non-conventional music notation system, and finally we put it all together to learn four body-music songs.

Associate body percussion sounds with the drumset.
PRACTICE THIS
Create a bass sound with the chest and/or feet.
Create a snare sound with the hands.
Create a high hat sound with snaps.
Put on a song that includes drumset, and play along by combining these 3 sounds.
Goal
Learn the Tum, Chi, & Pà sounds.
Play with the circular rhythm technique.
Tips
Remember to alternate limbs, both hands and feet!
Always use the voice to strengthen your independence and rhythmic imagination.
