Course content

1 section12 lectures4h 58m total length
  • Introduction20:18
  • Part 2 - modeling in Blender22:41

Create real geometry in Blender for a futuristic scene by converting fake bevels to proper edges, adding loop cuts and bevels, and extruding detailed features.

  • Modeling and lighting in Blender29:25

Model snakes and a lion in Blender using extrude, bevel, knife cuts, and UV edits, then craft moody lighting with HDRIs and Cycles environment textures.

  • Modeling and unwrapping in Blender25:57

Model and clean geometry in Blender by extruding faces, aligning axes, and correcting normals, then unwrap the UV map using project from view to fix stretches and shadows.

  • Materials and Photoshop27:55

Refine uv maps and bevels in blender for a futuristic movie scene, unwrap textures, extrude along normals, mirror the mesh, and paint roughness and bump maps in Photoshop.

  • UV, Make bump and roughness map24:56

Learn to create bump and roughness maps in Blender via color ramps, UV mapping, and baking textures from photo scans.

  • Futuristic head and cables31:09
  • Reality capture and blocking32:21

Block a futuristic city scene in Blender while using Reality Capture to turn photo scans into the scene, with glow eyes and emission, plus reference-based walls, streets, and a gate.

  • Reality capture to Blender21:29

Learn to import reality capture data into Blender by decimating meshes, aligning with orthographic views, and optimizing textures from 8k to 4k, while matching photo scans.

  • Fence modeling25:54
  • Finale - Trees, vegetation and details25:11

Refine materials and uv maps, integrate trees and vegetation assets, and optimize render times with decimation and instances in Blender. Model details, lighting, and volumetric atmosphere for a harbor scene.

  • Camera shake + night mode11:04

Requirements

  • It's good to have a little experience with Blender

Description

In this 5 hour tutorial, I will show you how to create this scene in Blender step by step.

In addition to Blender, which is covered in most tutorials, we will also use Reality Capture for photo-scanning and Photoshop for creating Bump and Roughness maps. If you are not using any of these programs, no problem because I will share with you the photo scans and maps used in the tutorial. If you are interested in creating realistic scenes and film design, this is the course for you.
