Series 2 as a collection discusses Orbitals. These are the behavioral fallacies hard-wired into institutions supported and upheld by tradition and culture. The mental warfare and method of resistance is detailed in series 2 across the trivium of grammar, logic, and rhetoric.
This lesson begins a new section in the training focusing on applying human behavior knowledge to at least contradict the patterns forged through intentional oppression over hundreds of years. At most, the hope is to utilize behavioral models to reset our sense of language, self-expression, and collaboration toward more sustainable functioning for US-born American Blacks within the United States and the world
Orbital Explored: White Collar, Blue Collar, Underclass.
We are taught from an early age to get a good education so that you can get a good job so that you can be somebody in life. When you explore the stories of others in history, you find that others followed a different path.
Orbitals attack the Educational Trivium of Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. This makes sense if you want to create a perpetual, self-renewing culture, reality, and decision-making process. The trivium is the foundation for all modern education.
Grammatical Orbitals in Human Behavior: In behavioral science, these orbitals are culture. They are the establishment of norms and behaviors that govern the choices people make.
You can find a good example of this in strict sects of religiosity. Without giving inordinate amounts of attention to the scandals of religious organizations perpetrated by their members as groups or their members as individuals, suffice it to say that the standard promoted is not being lived in daily life. Rather than the popular culture view or what the institutions promote in their marketing, I invite you to consider the creation and maintenance of religious doctrine.
As a safeguard, this culture should also be reviewed and creatively destructed periodically to ensure it responds to its own fallibility.
Logical orbitals in Human Behavior: In behavioral science, these orbitals are reality. Reality is a construction. We hope for a reality free from distortions. But, logical orbitals intend to introduce distortions into our constructions and thereby influence our decision making.
Remember what distortions do and how they are perpetuated. They are often common practices hiding error in plain sight. For our example, I will describe one such distortion based in the fear of aging, poverty, and death.
Conduct the research to know beyond the choices you are forced into. Explore alternatives that you are not readily shown.
Rhetorical Orbitals in Human Behavior: In behavioral science, these orbitals are the persuasive arguments that impact decision making particularly decisions that determine whether to construct an environment supporting of collective activities or to participate in collective activities.
A recent example came in response to the 2009 mortgage crisis. Due to the burst of the mortgage bubble promoted by often shady lending practices and over-speculation by major banking institutions, many homes were foreclosed upon. Some of these families moved in with other families to share a home. This level of sharing is not supported through statute nor promoted in many communities, but it worked as a fix for a desperate situation.
False humility and other counterfeiting as ego defense diminishes our opportunity to work progressively together and to see that working together creates enough for us all.
New Worksheets added for concrete practice with these constructs!
Series 2 houses Lessons 4-7 a discussion of the psycho-social-educational mechanisms within institutions meant to keep a people oppressed. They are called orbitals. They have many names in social sciences. The challenge with institutionalized orbitals is that they are rarely questioned due to their inculcation within this history, tradition, and culture of the institution. To question the orbital construct is to question the institution.
Orbitals are illusions that create norms, fallacies, or arguments that serve to counteract our natural instincts toward kindness, justice, and progress. We believe in and perpetuate these norms, fallacies, or arguments causing us to remain in the grips of an unnatural existence.
Lesson 4 provides an overview of orbitals. Lesson 5 discusses grammatical orbitals. Lesson 6 discusses logical orbitals. Lesson 7 discusses rhetorical orbitals.
Learning Objectives:
Apply human behavior knowledge to at least contradict the patterns forged through intentional oppression over hundreds of years.
Utilize behavioral models to reset our sense of language, self-expression, and collaboration toward more sustainable functioning for US-born American Blacks within the United States and the world.
Define grammatical, logical, and rhetorical orbitals in the context of behavioral science.
Identify examples of the orbitals and a process of awakening that includes self-esteem, purpose promotion, and capacity building.
