Description
The Course is divided in to two sections.
First part of the course explains the definition of Bill of Material from the conceptual level in relevance to Manufacturing Industry.
BOM at Conceptual level
As part of this Course you will understand
What is Bill of Material through a few illustrations
You will be briefed on how Bill of Material is documented and viewed in multiple forms
You will than run through types of Bill of material according to the context of use by various departments such as Engineering, Production, Sales, Service, Product Costing and Planning teams
A few examples of how BOM is represented according to various scenarios
You will know how Tracing the requirements of Parent (from a Component point of view), is performed through Where-used and Pegging reports
You will revisit the uses of BOM for various departments such as Sales, Planning, Design, Manufacturing and Costing teams
You will than summarize the understanding on BOM concepts
BOM in ERP such as SAP
You will be given a set of demo data to see how World Class ERPs such as SAP define the BOM and use the data in multiple forms to perform various functions such as Production and Procurement scheduling, Pro-active Planning and Engineering changes
The DEMO data used for the Course is explained
A brief demonstration of Material Creation and a few useful reports
You will see how BOM is created for Semi-finished and Finished Material
You will than see how multiple views of BOM are populated and how these views and reports are used in multiple perspectives
You will than Conclude the Course
