Extra-biblical prefaces or forwards should not be taken as doctrine. However, we can use them to gain an understanding of cultural and historical settings of Bible passages to gain true context and meaning. 

We shouldn't be interested in what the footnotes say about a verse as much as we should be about what the VERSE says about the verse in light of God's message with it. However, we can use footnotes to help us when we're stuck, or to corroborate what we have learned about the meaning of a verse through proper study of its context. This lecture describes how. 

Here students will understand what a footnote looks like, hot to use it, and where it is located in their Bible. 

Earlier in the course we discussed a tool I use to assist me in gaining a true context in which a verse or passage was written. This lecture goes into detail how and why you use accurate meaning of Hebrew and Greek words, as they were intended in their historical setting, in order to derive its true meaning as it relates to you today.

Using my Bible as an example...students will gain an understanding of the 3 step technique to reading their morning scripture. 

Using the technique outlined in this course, students can apply it to the interaction they have with scripture. Whether its in a church, on a bumpersticker, or anywhere else in public. Students will have the advanced skills required to determine truth in context, and learn what scripture is saying, what it means, and how to apply it.

Understand that there are forces that will always try and distract us from the truth in context, and blind us from the things that are truly important in God's eyes, and in our lives. Know that 'trinkets' and distractions (cell-phones, social media, television, and other 'toys') are placed in-front of us to distract us from fulfilling our divine purpose in the LORD and for His kingdom.
