Explore how BGP communities influence routing by using standard, extended, and new formats, learning additive versus replacement updates, and applying policies like no export and local preference.
Explore BGP filtering with AS-path lists and regular expressions to control which routes are advertised or accepted, using prefix lists and route maps.
Learn how to filter BGP updates using prefix lists and distribute lists, applied globally or per neighbor, including matching by subnet masks and wildcards to control advertised subnets.
Explore how BGP selects the best path using AS-path ignore, origin code, and MED, and learn to influence inbound traffic with route maps and redistribution.
Learn how BGP path attributes, including default local preference and AS-PATH, shape route selection and traffic, using prefix lists and route maps to control inbound and outbound flows.
In 1989, the Border Gateway Protocol was introduced as a successor to EGP. Note that BGP is also an exterior gateway protocol (EGP) as opposed to interior gateway protocols (IGPs) such as RIP and OSPF. Unlike all other routing protocols, BGP doesn't automatically discover other routers running BGP.This course is designed for Network Engineers working in Enterprise network and data center. It is having in-depth topics related to BGP protocol. The topics that are covered in this series are BGP basic,BGP neighborshop, IBGP and EBGP, EBGP multihop, disable conencted check, TCP connection mode in BGP, BGP scan timer, BGP redistribute intetnal, Loop avoidance in BGP for IBGP and EBGP, BGP fallover with router map, prefix-list use in BGP, BGP route reflector, cluster id, originator id, bgp communities standard and extended, bgp path attributes weight local prefrence as path origin code med, med missing as worst, deterministic med, always compare med, bgp best as path ignore, bgp best path as path multipath relax, bgp aggregation, bgp as set, bgp supress map, bgp unsupress map, exist and non exist map, bgp attributes map, bgp advertised map, bgp filtering, bgp orf fiture, bgp well known communities.
