Believer or Disciple? Follow Jesus and Make Disciples

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

You love Jesus.

Maybe you have been in church for many years. You sing the songs. You know the Bible stories. You may even serve every Sunday.

But if someone asked you to help one person follow Jesus, would you know where to start?

Many sincere believers would not. Not because they don't love Jesus. Simply because no one ever showed them a simple way.

This course starts with one honest question: Are you a believer in Jesus, or a disciple of Jesus?

Jesus did not say, "Go and make believers." He said, "Go and make disciples" (Matthew 28:19). This course walks with you, one step at a time, from believer to disciple, and from disciple to disciple-maker.

How each lesson works

1. Watch short Zúme Training videos (1 to 12 minutes each).

2. Read the lesson notes.

3. Practise with a printable worksheet.

4. Check what you learned with a five-question quiz.

5. Obey. Take one clear Obedience Step that week, and share how it went.

One lesson. One tool. One step of obedience each week.

What you will be able to do by the end

You will read the Bible every day with S.O.A.P.S. You will pray for a full hour with the Prayer Cycle. You will meet with an accountability partner. You will share God's story and your own three-minute story. You will prayer walk your street. And you will be ready to lead your first 3/3 Group.

It works with ordinary people

In Gopeng, Malaysia, 23 village believers joined a Zúme cohort. 22 of them finished, and together they started 7 new groups. They were not seminary graduates. They learned simple tools, obeyed them and passed them on.

Learn it together, not alone

This course is the self-study part of the Disciple Class at Mission Disciple School. If you want to practise the tools with a trainer and other believers, you can add the weekly live class. Details are in the bonus lecture at the end of the course.

Your instructor

Pastor Jony Leong is the founder of Mission Disciple School, a missionary with Team Expansion, and a Zúme Training lead trainer in Penang, Malaysia. He trains believers in six languages to make disciples who make disciples.

You do not need to feel ready. Jesus chose ordinary people, walked with them and sent them. He can do the same through you.
