The course consists of 18 lectures distributed across 6 sections:

In this first lecture I go over what to expect and what you'll learn in this 18 lecture course. I preview topics we'll cover more in-depth like:
Downloading and Installing Audacity
Exploring the Tools Available Inside the Audacity User Interface
Recording Audio Tracks
Creating, Saving, and Opening Projects
Using Keyboard Shortcuts
Understanding Audio Waveforms
Editing and Manipulating Audio Tracks
Buckle in and let's go!
Let's talk about what you're going to learn in Section 4, Audacity Bootcamp.
In this lecture, I show you how to rescan your computer hardware in Audacity. Every time Audacity starts, it scans your audio-related hardware. Plugging an external microphone or other audio device into your computer after Audacity is already running will result in it not showing up in the Device Toolbar. But you can rescan your hardware from within Audacity any time there is a change and the new hardware will be available to Audacity at that time.
In this lecture we look more closely at the anatomy of an audio waveform and some of the options in Audacity for displaying and manipulating waveforms. You as an editor will spend most of your time in Audacity working with waveforms. Waveforms are where the audio resides and the audio is your playground as a podcast editor.
Let's talk about what you'll learn in Section 5 of this course.
Tracks are the backbone of the Audacity recording software. In this section we delve into the anatomy of Audacity audio tracks as we learn how to name, mute, solo, delete, move, split, join, label, and auto-fit tracks to your screen size. We'll also re-visit pinning the play head.
In this lecture, we'll learn how to delete, split, move, and join audio waveforms within a track as well as how to move sections of audio from one track to another. In more complex multi-track editing, knowing how to perform these functions can be a valuable tool.
Congratulations on completing this course! I hope you've benefitted from it and that you feel more confident to move forward in your podcast editing goals. By completing this course, you've met the prerequisites for my next course, Intermediate Audacity Bootcamp, should you decide to enroll. Congratulations and I hope to see you there!
